# How to Bulk Download Selected Plugins as a ZIP

[Download Plugins and Themes in ZIP from Dashboard](https://wpfactory.com/item/download-plugins-and-themes-from-dashboard/) Pro lets you bulk download only the plugins you choose into a single ZIP, straight from the Plugins screen's Bulk actions menu. This sits between downloading one plugin at a time and the "Download all" tool. The bulk "Download ZIP" action is a Pro feature.

### Before you start

- [Download Plugins and Themes](https://wpfactory.com/item/download-plugins-and-themes-from-dashboard/) Pro (the bulk action requires Pro).
- The `activate_plugins` capability, part of the Administrator role.

### Download selected plugins

1. Go to **Plugins > Installed Plugins**.
2. Tick the checkbox next to each plugin you want to include.
3. Open the **Bulk actions** dropdown and choose **Download ZIP**.
4. Click **Apply**. Your browser downloads a single ZIP containing the selected plugins.

**Note:** in the free version, the **Download ZIP** bulk action still appears in the dropdown, but choosing it shows a notice that the Pro version is required. The bulk action packages plugins only; there is no equivalent bulk-select action for themes.

### When to use it

- Backing up a specific set of plugins (for example, only your custom or premium plugins) without archiving everything.
- Moving a chosen group of plugins to another site.
- Sending a client just the plugins relevant to their project.

To grab every installed plugin at once instead, use the free **Download all** tool under **WPFactory > Download plugins and Themes**. To download a single plugin, use its **Download ZIP** link on the Plugins screen.
