# Add to Cart Button Labels by Product Category

The **Per Product Category** section of [Change Add to Cart Button Text for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/add-to-cart-button-labels-woocommerce/) sets the button text for products in the categories you choose, so clothing can say "Add to wardrobe" while gift cards say "Send a gift". One category group is free; adding more groups is a Pro feature.

### Step-by-step setup

1. Go to **WPFactory > Add to Cart Button Labels** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Add to Cart Button Labels**).
2. Open **Per Product Category** and tick **Enable section**.
3. Under **Group #1**, pick one or more categories in the **Categories** field.
4. Enter your **Single product page** and **Shop page** labels.
5. Click **Save changes**.

### Multiple category groups (Pro)

On Pro you can raise **Total category groups** above 1, save, and each new group gets its own category selection and its own label pair. This lets you run several category-specific labels side by side. On the free version the number is fixed at 1.

**Note:** if a product sits in more than one targeted category, the first matching group in order wins. There is no per-category name shortcode, so you cannot auto-insert the category name into the label.

### When a category label applies

Per Product Category sits between the product-type rules and the more specific per-product, per-user-role and per-user rules. So a category label overrides the type and All Products labels, but a Per Product label on an individual product will override the category label.
