# Payment Methods Based on EU VAT Numbers

To show certain payment methods only to customers with a valid VAT number, go to WPFactory > EU VAT (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > EU VAT), General sub-tab, Payment Methods section. Enable Show specific payment method only if VAT is valid and select the gateways. This is a Pro feature of EU/UK VAT Manager for WooCommerce.

### Before you start

- WooCommerce, active, with at least two payment methods enabled.
- [EU/UK VAT Manager](https://wpfactory.com/item/eu-vat-for-woocommerce/) Pro: the payment-method control is disabled in the free version.

### Set it up

1. Go to **WPFactory > EU VAT** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > EU VAT**), on the **General** sub-tab.
2. Find the **Payment Methods** section.
3. Enable **Show specific payment method only if VAT is valid** (`alg_wc_eu_vat_allow_specific_payment`).
4. In **Method to show for valid VAT only** (`alg_wc_eu_vat_allowed_payment_gateway`), select the gateway(s) that should appear only when the VAT number is valid.
5. Save changes.

### How it behaves

The selected methods are shown only when the VAT number validates. Customers without a valid number see the remaining, unrestricted methods. Always keep at least one payment method that is available to everyone, so buyers without a VAT number can still check out.
