# Configuring Payment Gateways per Products: Settings Overview

## Configure the plugin settings

The settings for [Payment Methods by Product & Country for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/payment-gateways-per-product-for-woocommerce/) are organized into tabs. This article explains what each tab does so you know where to set your rules. Go to **WPFactory > Payment Gateways per Products** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Payment Gateways per Products**).

### The settings tabs

| Tab | What it does | Free/Pro |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **General** | Advanced options: the fallback gateway and the "Add filter" timing option. | Mixed |
| **Product Categories** | Show or hide each gateway based on the categories of products in the cart. | Free |
| **Product Tags** | Show or hide each gateway based on the tags of products in the cart. | Free |
| **Products** | Show or hide each gateway based on individual products or variations. | Pro |
| **Countries** | Restrict gateways to specific billing countries. | Pro |

### Enabling a section

There is no single switch that turns the whole plugin on or off. Instead, each tab has its own **Enable/Disable > Enable section** checkbox:

- **Product Categories** (`alg_wc_pgpp_product_cat_section_enabled`) and **Product Tags** (`alg_wc_pgpp_product_tag_section_enabled`) are enabled by default.
- **Products** (`alg_wc_pgpp_products_section_enabled`) and **Countries** (`alg_wc_pgpp_countries_remove_enabled`) are Pro and off by default.

### General tab: Advanced Options

| Fallback gateway (Enable) | `alg_wc_pgpp_advanced_fallback_gateway_enabled` | No | Pro |
| Choose fallback gateway | `alg_wc_pgpp_advanced_fallback_gateway` | (none) | Pro |
| Add filter | `alg_wc_pgpp_advanced_add_hook` | On "init" action | Free |

- **Fallback gateway:** a Pro option that shows one chosen gateway only when your rules would otherwise leave the cart with no available payment method. See the fallback how-to for details.
- **Add filter:** controls when the plugin registers its gateway filter (*In constructor*, *On "init" action*, or *On "wp_loaded" action*). Leave it on *init* unless a theme or another plugin causes gateways not to filter correctly, then try another option.

### Reset a section

Each tab ends with a **Reset Section > Reset settings** checkbox. Ticking it and saving clears only that tab's options and shows a "Your settings have been reset" notice.

### Remember

- Category and tag rules are free; per-product, per-country and fallback rules require Pro.
- Always click **Save changes** after editing a tab.
