# How to Bulk Delete Posts, Products and Terms with Excel

To bulk delete posts, pages or products with Excel using [Content Importer for WordPress & WooCommerce with Excel](https://wpfactory.com/item/content-importer-for-wordpress-woocommerce-with-excel/), go to **WPFactory > Content Excel Importer Pro > Delete Content**, upload an .xlsx file listing titles or IDs in column A, optionally limit deletion to a term, and confirm. Terms are deleted from the Delete Categories tab.

## Before you start

- Back up your database. Permanent deletion cannot be undone.
- Download the **SAMPLE EXCEL FILE** on the Delete Content tab (headers POST TITLE and DELETE COMPLETELY).

## Delete posts, pages or products

1. Go to **WPFactory > Content Excel Importer Pro** and open **Delete Content**.
2. In column A, list each item by title, by post ID, or by slug (slugs work for standard posts).
3. In column B, enter `yes` to delete the item permanently; leave it empty or enter `no` to move it to the Trash.
4. Optionally fill **Delete only if has term**: the taxonomy (for example `category`) and the term (for example `news`). Items without that term are skipped.
5. Choose the file, click **Delete from Excel** and confirm "Are you sure you want to delete the content in the file?".
6. Wait for **JOB DONE!**. Items that are not found show "doesnt exist, you need to import it first".

## Delete categories or other terms

1. Open **Delete Categories** and select the taxonomy.
2. List the term names in column A (the import terms sample works as a template).
3. Upload the file and confirm "Are you sure you want to delete the terms in the file?".

**Warning:** deleting by title matches the first item with that title in any post type. Use post IDs in column A when titles are shared between posts, pages or products.

## FAQ

### Can I restore deleted content?

Items moved to the Trash (column B not `yes`) can be restored from the Trash screen. Items deleted with `yes` are gone.

### Does deleting a product delete its images?

No. Media Library attachments are not deleted.

### Can I keep a record of what was deleted?

Yes. Turn on **Enable Log File** in Settings, then use the **Download Log File** link that appears when the job finishes.
