# How to Export Customers from Orders in WooCommerce

To build a customer list from the people who actually placed orders (including guests who never registered), use the Customers from Orders tool in [Export Products, Orders & Customers for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/export-woocommerce/). It reads your orders and identifies customers by billing email, so it captures buyers the plain Customers export misses.

### Customers vs Customers from Orders

Use the right tool for the job:

- **Customers** reads the WordPress users table (registered accounts only).
- **Customers from Orders** reads your orders and groups them by billing email, so guest checkouts are included.

### Step 1: choose your fields

1. Go to **WPFactory > Export** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Export**).
2. Open the **Customers from Orders** section.
3. In **Export Customers from Orders Fields** (`alg_export_customers_from_orders_fields`), select the fields, then click **Save changes**.

### What you can export

- **Identity:** Customer Nr., Customer ID, first and last name, and User Roles.
- **Billing and shipping:** full address set, phone, and billing email.
- **Activity:** Last Order Date (free).

**Pro fields:** **First Order Date**, **Total Spent (Lifetime)**, **Order Count (Lifetime)**, **Total Spent (Period)**, **Order Count (Period)**, and **Item Count (Period)** appear only when Export WooCommerce Pro is active. The "(Period)" fields are measured over the date range you set below.

### Step 2: filter by date (optional)

This tool has its own **Date Filter** (`alg_export_customers_from_orders_fields_date_filter`) with presets and a custom range, plus a **Download File Type** option (CSV or XML). The date range also drives the Pro "(Period)" totals.

### Step 3: preview or export

The Customers from Orders section has its own **Preview** and **Export** buttons, so you can download right from this screen without opening the dashboard.

### What this is good for

- Marketing lists that include guest buyers, not just registered accounts.
- Spotting repeat customers by order count.
- Lifetime-value analysis when paired with the Pro spend fields.

### Get more control

Customers from Orders is free. [Export Products, Orders & Customers for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/export-woocommerce/) Pro adds first-order date and lifetime and period spend, order, and item counts. [See what Pro unlocks](https://wpfactory.com/item/export-woocommerce/).
