# Free Shipping Message Placeholders Reference

Every message field in the [Free Shipping Bar: Amount Left for Free Shipping for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/amount-left-free-shipping-woocommerce/) accepts placeholders that are replaced with live cart values at render time. This page lists them all. They work in the Content fields of the Cart, Mini-cart, Checkout, Store notice, and Add to cart sections, in the widget, and in the shortcode `content` attribute.

### Available placeholders

| Placeholder | Output |
| --- | --- |
| `%amount_left_for_free_shipping%` | The amount still needed to reach free shipping, formatted as a price. |
| `%free_shipping_min_amount%` | The free shipping threshold, formatted as a price. |
| `%current_cart_total%` | The current cart total the plugin is using, formatted as a price. |
| `%amount_left_for_free_shipping_raw%` | The amount left as an unformatted number (no currency symbol). Handy for custom markup or calculations. |
| `%free_shipping_min_amount_raw%` | The threshold as an unformatted number. |
| `%current_cart_total_raw%` | The current cart total as an unformatted number. |
| `%progress_bar%` | The progress bar markup. Requires the Progress Bar section to be enabled, and only renders while an amount is still left. |

### Examples

A simple message:

```
%amount_left_for_free_shipping% left for free shipping
```

A message with the threshold and a bar:

```
Spend %amount_left_for_free_shipping% more to unlock free shipping over %free_shipping_min_amount%.<br>%progress_bar%
```

**Note:** the message fields also accept HTML and shortcodes, so you can mix placeholders with your own markup. When free shipping has been reached, the plugin shows the separate "Free shipping reached" message (`alg_wc_left_to_free_shipping_info_content_reached`) instead of the content above.
