# How to Sum Stock from Multiple Excel Rows for a WooCommerce Product

To update WooCommerce stock as the sum of several Excel rows for the same product, tick **Add Stock for same Product from multiple Excel Rows** and **Update Stock Number** at **WPFactory > Stock Manager > Settings** in [Products Stock Manager with Excel for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/products-stock-manager-with-excel-for-woocommerce/), then import your file from the **Update** tab.

Once the Excel file is imported, the sum of all rows that belong to the same product becomes that product's new stock number. This is useful when stock comes from several warehouses or suppliers, each on its own row.

## Step by step

1. Go to **WPFactory > Stock Manager** and click the **Settings** tab.
2. Tick **Add Stock for same Product from multiple Excel Rows**.
3. Make sure **Update Stock Number** is also ticked. The sum option has no effect without it.
4. Click **Save Changes**.
5. Prepare your file: one row per stock source, with the product's ID or SKU on each row and the quantity in the stock column (column E by default).
6. Import your Excel file from the **Update** tab of the plugin.

## Example

In the example below, for **sku a** the new stock will be **13** and for **sku b** the stock will be **9**: the quantities on each product's rows are added together. You can download a sample file with the right columns from the **Update** tab.

## How the sum works

- Rows are grouped by the product they resolve to, so a row with the product ID and another row with the same product's SKU are added together.
- The sum replaces the current stock. It is not added to the stock already in WooCommerce.
- Empty, text or negative quantities are skipped and do not count toward the sum.
- The same option applies to scheduled imports from a remote Excel file.

**Tip:** in version 4.0.3, sort your sheet so that products appearing on only one row come first, followed by the products that have several rows. A single-row product placed below a multi-row product can otherwise receive that product's total.

## FAQ

### Can I add the file's quantities to the stock already in WooCommerce?

No. The option adds up the rows in the file, and the total replaces the current stock. To add incoming stock, export your products first, add the new quantities in the sheet, and upload the result.

### Do the rows for one product need to be next to each other?

No, rows for the same product are added up wherever they are in the sheet. Just keep single-row products above the multi-row products, as described in the tip.

### Does summing work for variations?

Yes. Use the variation ID or the variation SKU on each row.
