# Common Issues and Solutions

Most [Payment Methods by Product & Country for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/payment-gateways-per-product-for-woocommerce/) issues come from a few slips: the section holding the rule is not enabled, the wrong field was used, the gateway is disabled in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments, or the same term is in both Include and Exclude. Save, clear caches, and test with a fresh cart.

### Gateways are not appearing (or hiding) as expected

- Confirm the section you set the rule in is enabled: each tab has its own **Enable/Disable > Enable section** checkbox. Categories and Tags are on by default; Products and Countries are Pro and off by default.
- Check you used the right field. **Include** shows a gateway only when a matching item is in the cart; **Exclude** hides it when a matching item is in the cart.
- Make sure the gateway is enabled in **WooCommerce > Settings > Payments**. The plugin can only filter gateways that WooCommerce already offers.

### Including and excluding at the same time

For a single gateway and the same category, tag or product, do not fill in both Include and Exclude. The two rules cancel out and the gateway is left unchanged. Pick one approach per gateway: "allow all except" (Exclude) or "hide all except" (Include).

### Changes are not showing on the storefront

- Click **Save changes** after editing a tab.
- Clear any page, server or CDN cache, then hard-refresh the checkout page.
- Test with a fresh cart: add a product, then open checkout, so the gateway list is recalculated.
