# Maximum Products per User: Message Placeholders Reference

## Message placeholders reference

[Maximum Products per User for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/maximum-products-per-user-for-woocommerce/) replaces placeholders in your cart, checkout, single product and My Account messages with live values. Use them in the Frontend section message fields and in the `[wpfmppu_customer_msg]` and `[wpfmppu_term_limit]` shortcodes. All placeholders are available in the free version.

### Quantity and limit placeholders

| Placeholder | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| `%limit%` | The maximum allowed for the product or term. |
| `%bought%` | How much the customer has already bought. |
| `%remaining%` | How much they can still buy. |
| `%in_cart%` | Quantity currently in the cart. |
| `%bought_plus_in_cart%` | Bought plus what is in the cart. |
| `%remaining_minus_in_cart%` | Remaining once the cart is accounted for. |
| `%adding%` | Quantity being added in the current action. |
| `%in_cart_plus_adding%` | In cart plus what is being added. |
| `%bought_plus_in_cart_plus_adding%` | Bought plus cart plus what is being added. |
| `%remaining_minus_in_cart_minus_adding%` | Remaining after cart and the addition. |

### Product, term and order placeholders

| Placeholder | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| `%product_title%` | The product name. |
| `%term_name%` | The category or tag name. |
| `%payment_method_title%` | The current payment method title. |
| `%first_order_amount%` | Amount of the first counted order. |
| `%first_order_date%` | Date of the first counted order. |
| `%first_order_date_exp%` | When the current period (based on the first order) expires. |
| `%first_order_date_exp_timeleft%` | Time left until that expiry. |

### Example message

`The remaining amount for %product_title% is %remaining% (you've already bought %bought% out of %limit%).`

To insert one placeholder on its own anywhere, use the shortcode `[wpfmppu_placeholder key="remaining"]`.
