# Customers Bypass the Minimum Order With Express Payment Buttons

If customers pay below your minimum with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link or PayPal buttons on the cart or product page, the buttons skip the checkout page where [Order Minimum/Maximum Amount Limits for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/order-minimum-maximum-amount-for-woocommerce/) checks the order. The usual fix: for PayPal, enable Pro's **Compatibility > PayPal buttons**; for other gateways, show express buttons at checkout only.

## Why it happens

Order Min/Max checks the limits when the classic checkout form is submitted (**Block checkout process**, on by default), can redirect customers away from the checkout page (**Block checkout page**), and can disable WooCommerce's **Proceed to checkout** button (**Disable proceed to checkout button**). Express payment buttons shown on the cart or product page are separate buttons added by your payment plugin. They are not the Proceed to checkout button, and they can create the order without the customer ever opening the checkout page, so these checks may never run.

## Causes and fixes

All settings below are at **WPFactory > Order Min/Max** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Order Min/Max Amount**).

1. **PayPal buttons from WooCommerce PayPal Payments.** The plugin has a dedicated option for this gateway.

Fix: open the **Compatibility** section and, under **WooCommerce PayPal Payments**, tick **PayPal buttons** ("Disable PayPal buttons if the limits are not respected", default: off). This is a Pro feature. On product pages the button state refreshes after a page reload. The same section recommends setting **General > Block checkout hook** to `woocommerce_after_checkout_validation` for PayPal.
2. **Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link buttons from a Stripe plugin, or express buttons from any other gateway.** Order Min/Max has no option that hides these buttons.

Fix: in your payment plugin's settings, turn off its express checkout buttons on the cart and product pages, so customers must go through checkout. Then, in Order Min/Max, tick **General > Block checkout page** ("Block checkout page if min/max amounts are not met", default: off). Customers whose cart breaks a limit are sent back to the cart, so they cannot reach any express buttons shown on the checkout page either.
3. **You only disabled the Proceed to checkout button.** **Disable proceed to checkout button** affects WooCommerce's own button on the classic and block cart, not express payment buttons next to it.

Fix: combine it with the steps above.

## How to confirm it is fixed

1. In a private browser window, add products worth less than your minimum to the cart.
2. Check the cart and a product page: no express payment button should be usable, or the PayPal button should be disabled.
3. Open the checkout page directly. With **Block checkout page** on, you should be sent back to the cart with the limit message.
4. Add products until the minimum is met and confirm the express buttons and checkout work again.
