# Price by Quantity Placeholders Reference

This reference lists the placeholders you can use in the templates and shortcodes of [Price by Quantity & Bulk Quantity Discounts for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/product-price-by-quantity-for-woocommerce/). Placeholders are wrapped in percent signs, for example `%new_price_total%`, and are replaced at render time.

### Price and discount placeholders

These are used in the **Price Display by Qty** templates and the **Qty Dropdown** label template.

| Placeholder | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `%qty%` | The selected quantity. |
| `%qty_total%` | Total quantity (dropdown label template only). |
| `%old_price_single%` | Original per-unit price. |
| `%new_price_single%` | Discounted per-unit price. |
| `%old_price_total%` | Original price times quantity. |
| `%new_price_total%` | Discounted price times quantity. |
| `%discount_value%` | Discount amount as configured for the level. |
| `%discount_percent%` | Discount as a percentage. Add a second `%` for a literal percent sign. |
| `%discount_single%` | Amount saved per unit. |
| `%discount_total%` | Amount saved across the quantity. |

Each of the four price placeholders also has tax-specific variants, formed by adding `_incl_tax` or `_excl_tax` before the closing percent sign: `%old_price_single_incl_tax%`, `%old_price_single_excl_tax%`, `%new_price_single_incl_tax%`, `%new_price_single_excl_tax%`, `%old_price_total_incl_tax%`, `%old_price_total_excl_tax%`, `%new_price_total_incl_tax%`, and `%new_price_total_excl_tax%`.

**Deprecated:** older templates used `%old_price%` and `%price%`. They still work but map to `%old_price_single%` and `%new_price_single%`. Use the newer names in new templates.

### Product table placeholders

These are used in the `[alg_wc_product_wholesale_pricing_table]` shortcode, in attributes such as `heading_format`, `percent_row_format` and `discount_row_format`.

| Placeholder | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `%level_min_qty%` | Minimum quantity for the level. |
| `%level_max_qty%` | Maximum quantity before the next level. |
| `%level_discount%` | The level's configured discount value. |
| `%level_discount_amount%` | Saved amount as a number. |
| `%level_discount_amount_price%` | Saved amount formatted as a price. |
| `%level_discount_percent%` | Saved percentage (2 decimals). |
| `%level_discount_percent_rounded%` | Saved percentage rounded to a whole number. |

The price row (`price_row_format` and `total_min_qty_price_row_format`) additionally accepts the `%old_price_single%`, `%new_price_single%`, `%old_price_total%` and `%new_price_total%` placeholders and their tax variants.

### Products list placeholders

In the Pro `[alg_wc_ppq_products_list]` shortcode, level column headings accept `%level_min_qty%`, `%level_discount%` and `%level_num%` (the level's position, starting at 1).
