# Set a Different Currency per Payment Gateway

To set a different currency per payment gateway in [Payment Gateway Currency for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/payment-gateways-by-currency-for-woocommerce/), go to WPFactory > Payment Gateway Currency, open the Convert Currency sub-tab, tick Convert currency: Enable section, and save. Then set each gateway's Convert currency and Conversion rate. The cart and order totals convert when the customer selects that gateway.

## Where the settings live

Go to **WPFactory > Payment Gateway Currency** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Payment Gateway Currency**). The **Convert Currency** sub-tab is the default screen.

## Turn conversion on

1. Open the **Convert Currency** sub-tab.
2. Under **Convert Currency Options**, tick **Convert currency: Enable section** (`alg_wc_pgbc_convert_currency_enabled`, default No).
3. Click **Save changes**. Each installed payment gateway now gets its own group of fields further down the page.

## Configure a gateway

Each gateway on your store has a block with four fields. Set them for every gateway you want to convert, and leave the rest untouched.

| Field | Option ID | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Convert currency | `alg_wc_pgbc_convert_currency[{gateway}]` | No changes | The currency this gateway charges in. Leave it on **No changes** to keep the shop currency. |
| Conversion rate | `alg_wc_pgbc_convert_rate[{gateway}]` | (empty) | How many units of the target currency equal one unit of the shop currency. Set it by hand or let the plugin fetch it automatically (see below). |
| Currency symbol | `alg_wc_pgbc_convert_symbol[{gateway}]` | (empty) | Optional. Leave empty to use the default symbol for the target currency. |
| Number of decimals | `alg_wc_pgbc_convert_num_decimals[{gateway}]` | (empty) | Optional. Leave empty to use the store's default number of decimals. |

The `{gateway}` part of each option ID is the gateway's WooCommerce id, for example `bacs`, `cheque`, `cod`, `paypal`, or `ppcp-gateway`.

## A worked example

Your shop currency is USD, and you want cash on delivery to be charged in EUR at a rate of 0.92 EUR per 1 USD:

1. In the **Cash on delivery** block, set **Convert currency** to **Euro (EUR)**.
2. Set **Conversion rate** to `0.92`.
3. Leave **Currency symbol** and **Number of decimals** empty to use the EUR defaults.
4. Save changes. A 100 USD cart now shows and charges 92 EUR when the customer chooses cash on delivery.

## Free and Pro

In the free version you can configure the five standard gateways: **Direct bank transfer** (`bacs`), **Check payments** (`cheque`), **Cash on delivery** (`cod`), **PayPal** (`paypal`), and **WooCommerce PayPal Payments** (`ppcp-gateway`). For any other gateway the currency and rate fields are disabled until you activate Pro, which unlocks conversion for every gateway on your store. That gateway coverage is the only difference between Free and Pro.
