# Name Your Price: Shortcodes Guide

[Name Your Price: Make Your Own Offer for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/price-offers-for-woocommerce/) has three shortcodes, all free: `[alg_wc_price_offers_button]` places the **Make an offer** button, and `[alg_wc_price_offers_translate]` (alias `[alg_wc_price_offerings_translate]`) shows text per language. The button's look and default position are set in **WPFactory > Price Offers > Button**.

**Correction to an earlier version of this article:** shortcodes such as `[alg_wc_price_offers_button_position]`, `[alg_wc_price_offers_form_customization]`, `[alg_wc_price_offers_auto_accept]`, `[alg_wc_price_offers_custom_email]`, and `[alg_wc_price_offers_report]` do not exist in the plugin. The real shortcodes are listed below.

## Shortcodes at a glance

| Shortcode | What it does | Attributes | Free/Pro |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `[alg_wc_price_offers_button]` | Outputs the Make an offer button for the current product | None | Free |
| `[alg_wc_price_offers_translate]` | Shows text only for chosen WPML/Polylang languages | `lang`, `not_lang`, `lang_text`, `not_lang_text` | Free |
| `[alg_wc_price_offerings_translate]` | Alias of the translate shortcode | Same | Free |

## Offer button shortcode

`[alg_wc_price_offers_button]` outputs the **Make an offer** button. Place it inside a single product context (for example in the product short description) to add or reposition the button.

- The button uses the product being displayed on the page. It does not take a `product_id` parameter.
- It renders the same button configured under the **Button** settings section.
- It follows the same rules as the automatic button: if offers are not enabled for the product, the product is excluded, or the button is limited to logged-in users, the shortcode prints nothing.

```
[alg_wc_price_offers_button]
```

### Move the button to a custom spot

1. Go to **WPFactory > Price Offers** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Price Offers**) and open the **Button** section.
2. Set **Position on single product page** to **Do not add**, so the button is not shown twice. The default is **Inside single product summary** with priority 31.
3. Save, then add `[alg_wc_price_offers_button]` where you want it: the product short description, a shortcode block or widget in your product template, or a page builder's shortcode element on the single product layout.
4. Open a product and click the button. The offer form opens in a popup, exactly as with the automatic button.

## Translation shortcode

`[alg_wc_price_offers_translate]` shows or hides content based on the active WPML/Polylang language (it reads the `ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE` constant). Its alias `[alg_wc_price_offerings_translate]` behaves identically. It has two usage patterns.

**Attribute form** (one shortcode, two texts):

```
[alg_wc_price_offers_translate lang="EN,DE" lang_text="Text for EN and DE" not_lang_text="Text for other languages"]
```

**Wrapper form** (content between opening and closing tags):

```
[alg_wc_price_offers_translate lang="EN,DE"]Text for EN and DE[/alg_wc_price_offers_translate]
[alg_wc_price_offers_translate not_lang="EN,DE"]Text for other languages[/alg_wc_price_offers_translate]
```

- `lang` - show the text only for these comma-separated language codes.
- `not_lang` - show the text for every language except these.
- `lang_text` / `not_lang_text` - the two texts used in the attribute form.

Language codes are matched without regard to case. Use the shortcode anywhere WordPress runs shortcodes, such as product descriptions, and in the **Default email content** of the reject, accept and counter emails (Actions section), which is processed for shortcodes.

## There is no separate Pro shortcode set

Features like auto-accept, per-product targeting, and email customization are configured in the settings screens, not through shortcodes. The three shortcodes above are the full list, and they work the same in free and Pro.

## If a shortcode shows nothing

- The button shortcode is on a normal page, not a product. It reads the current product, so outside a product it has nothing to show.
- Offers are disabled for that product by an exclusion in the General section (for example out of stock or price limits), or, in Pro, the product is not in your selected products or categories.
- The General section's button visibility is set to **Logged-in users only** and you are viewing as a guest.
- Without WPML or Polylang, the language constant is not defined, so the translate shortcode always shows the `not_lang_text` or `not_lang` text.

## FAQ

### Can I show the offer button on the shop page with a shortcode?

Not with the shortcode. Showing the button on shop and category pages is the Pro **Advanced Positions Options** setting in the Button section.

### Can I pass a product ID to the button shortcode?

No. The shortcode takes no attributes and always uses the product being displayed.

### Where do I change the button text?

In the Button section. The shortcode renders the same label, class and style you set there. See [how to craft the offer button](https://wpfactory.com/docs/custom-offer-button/).
