# How to Import and Export WooCommerce Subscriptions with Excel

To import or export WooCommerce Subscriptions with Excel, activate WooCommerce Subscriptions, then open **WPFactory > Store Migration > Subscriptions** in [All In One WooCommerce Migration: Import & Export to Excel](https://wpfactory.com/item/all-in-one-woocommerce-migration-import-export-to-excel/). The tab has **Import Subscriptions**, **Export Subscriptions** and **New Export** screens.

## Before you start

- WooCommerce Subscriptions is installed and active. Without it, the Subscriptions tab and subscription options are hidden.
- The subscription products already exist. Import them first from **Products > Import Products** with the **WooCommerce Subscriptions** box ticked (see [How to import and update WooCommerce products](https://wpfactory.com/docs/store-migration-import-products-excel/)).

## Import subscriptions

1. Go to **Subscriptions > Import Subscriptions** and download the **Subscriptions Excel Sample**.
2. Upload your .xlsx file.
3. Choose **Product to Subscriptions by** (ID, SKU or TITLE), and set **Shipping same as Billing address** and **Create user if not exist** (ticked by default) as needed.
4. Map the SUBSCRIPTION FIELDS: dates, status, product IDs, quantities, billing details, shipping, payment method, coupon code, an optional order note and the transaction ID.
5. Click **Upload** and wait for **JOB DONE!**.

## Export subscriptions

- **Export Subscriptions**: filter by status and limit, tick fields (ID, parent order ID, status, dates, products, quantities, billing and shipping fields, totals, payment method), click **Search**, then download xlsx, csv or txt.
- **New Export**: writes every subscription to an `export.xlsx` file on the server and shows a link to download it.

## FAQ

### Why do I not see the Subscriptions tab?

The tab only appears when the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin is active.

### Can I import simple and variable subscription products?

Yes. Use the 7. Simple Subscriptions Products and 8. Variable Subscriptions Products samples on the Import Products screen, and tick the WooCommerce Subscriptions box on the mapping screen.

### Does the import link a subscription to an existing customer?

Yes. The customer is found by email; with Create user if not exist ticked, a missing customer is created.
