# How to Set Add to Cart Button Labels by Product Tag

To change the Add to Cart button text for products that carry a given product tag, use the Per Product Tag section of [Change Add to Cart Button Text for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/add-to-cart-button-labels-woocommerce/). One tag group is free, so you can target a set of tags without upgrading.

### Before you start

- WooCommerce, active.
- At least one product tag created and assigned to some products.
- Adding more than one tag group is a Pro feature.

### Step by step

1. Go to **WPFactory > Add to Cart Button Labels** (also reachable at **WooCommerce > Settings > Add to Cart Button Labels**).
2. Open the **Per Product Tag** section and tick **Enable section**.
3. In **Group #1**, leave **Enable group #1** ticked and pick one or more tags under **Tags**.
4. Type the button text in **Single product page** and, if you want a different word on shop and archive listings, in **Shop page**.
5. Click **Save changes**.

### Options in this section

| Label | Option ID | Type | Default | Free/Pro |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Per product tag labels (Enable section) | `alg_wc_add_to_cart_button_labels_per_tag_enabled` | Checkbox | `no` | Free |
| Total tag groups | `alg_wc_atcbl_per_tag_total_number` | Number | `1` | Free capped at 1; Pro to raise |
| Enable group #1 | `alg_wc_atcbl_per_tag_group_enabled[1]` | Checkbox | `yes` | Free |
| Tags | `alg_wc_atcbl_per_tag_group_ids[1]` | Multiselect | Empty | Free |
| Single product page | `alg_wc_atcbl_per_tag_group_label_single[1]` | Text | Empty | Free |
| Shop page | `alg_wc_atcbl_per_tag_group_label_archive[1]` | Text | Empty | Free |

**Note:** a product often carries several tags. The plugin checks your groups in order and applies the first group whose tag list matches the product, so put your most specific tags in the first group.

### Which rule wins

If a product also matches a category rule, an individual product label, or a user rule, the more specific rule takes over. A per product label and per user or per user role label both override a tag label. A tag label overrides a per category and a per product type label. See [the related how-to articles](https://wpfactory.com/docs/add-to-cart-button-text-changer/) for those sections.

### Get more control

One tag group is free. [Change Add to Cart Button Text for WooCommerce](https://wpfactory.com/item/add-to-cart-button-labels-woocommerce/) Pro adds unlimited tag groups, plus unlimited category, user role and user groups and separate on-sale labels.
