Cost of Goods Not Applied to Existing Orders

Problem Description #

After adding or updating cost/profit fields, existing orders do not automatically reflect the changes.

Common Symptoms:

  • Orders placed before the plugin update show $0 or incorrect profit.

  • Reports for past orders remain unchanged.

Cause:

  • The plugin only applies cost and profit calculations to new orders.

Solution

  1. Navigate to the plugin dashboard.

  2. Use the bulk recalculation feature to update all existing orders.

  3. If bulk recalculation fails, export orders and re-import costs to force update.

Prerequisites

  • Plugin version that supports bulk recalculation of historical orders.

Additional Notes

Regularly recalculate profits if you frequently update product costs.
