Q. We want to be able to manually add related products to some products but allow other products to follow the default WooCommerce random selection from the displayed product’s allocated category, is this possible?
A. Yes, that is possible. When you enable “Relate manually” option, then new “Related Products” meta box is added to each product’s edit page. If you leave “Enable” option in that meta box in its default state (i.e. “No”) then this product will use standard WooCommerce related products (i.e. by category and/or tag). If you set “Enable” option to “Yes”, then it will override the default related products for this product.

I recently bought your Related Products Manager for WooCommerce plugin and it works fine.

I use it to display products by global attribute. But I want to display related products by subcategories in addition to this.

Please suggest how I can do it?

    Waiting for your reply.

hi, i just activated the plugin but i can’t see related products widget any where on my product page, is there a short code or something should i add to show related products section?

      Hi Max,

Sorry for a late reply. Not sure I understood you correctly. Do you mean you are not seeing “Related Products” meta box on product admin edit page? If that’s correct – please enable “Relate manually” checkbox in “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager > Relate”.

Please let me know if I misunderstood you.

I want to show related products, that are related both by category and color (attribute) to the product. Is it possible to do it with the plugin?

I was testing the free plugin (I entered an explicit attribute value) and it seems it is doing OR relation – it shows related products that I either in the same category OR with the same colour. I would need AND relation.

Would it be possible to do this?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

If anyone else has a similar question – as we figured out in private emails – in plugin’s version 1.4.0 we have added “Override categories and tags” checkbox option (in “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager > Relate”) which should solve the task.

Hello! I just purchased your plugin and I want to show related products by attribute but it still just shows random products. Is there I’m something I’m doing wrong?

    • Tom Anbinder April 16, 2019 at 11:39 pm #

Could you please try clicking “clear all products transients” link in plugin’s settings (at the top of the page at “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager”). If that doesn’t help – maybe I could log in to your site’s admin to check what’s going on? My private email is [email protected].

If anyone else has a similar question – as we’ve figured out in private emails – the problem was that “Attribute type” was set to “Local attribute” in plugin’s settings. This means that we are trying to relate by attributes created on product’s edit page (i.e. locally) instead of attributes created in “Products > Attributes” (i.e. “Global attribute”). After changing the type from local to global, the issue seems to be solved.
