  1. Dear Sir!

We sent 9days ago a question regarding to your great plugin, but no response arrived yet, so we had to bought your plugin.

This is the question we have:
We have a custom taxanomy called “vehicles” which build like for example:
Parent / sub / sub of sub
    Kia / Carens / 2002-2006 (FJ)

So if a customer select his car and select a product can your plugin customize the Related Product to show the results only for this selection [ for example: Kia / Carens / 2002-2006 (FJ)] and not for all product of the Parent (Kia)?

  2. Hello,

we have Related Products Manager installed and it’s running. However we have set it to sort by Price ascending, but the plugin seems to be ignoring the price?

I have tried enabling and disabling the Relate by category and Relate by tag options, and have ran the “clear all products transients” each time I’ve made a change, but the related products all appear with random pricing order.

An example of the problem is here: https://www.doorhandles.ie/product/arklow-cor-105-sn/

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

  3. Hi,

I have been trying out the free version of your plugin and I cant get it to work. I am trying to show related products based on a single attribute but its not taking. I cant even get the title to change, nothing seems to update using the plugin. I think It has something to do with my theme. Would be willing to buy plugin if i can get it working. would be willing to give you a website login if you would take a look.

    1. I forgot to mention that I currently have a custom script for this but it is not working how I like It. If you look on my single product page I am talking about the 2nd related product section on the bottom.

    2. Hi Jake,

Yes, logins are usually the fastest way of solving such issues. My private email is [email protected].

    3. If anyone else has a similar question – as we’ve figured out in private emails – both options that were mentioned (i.e. relating by attribute without setting the attribute value and changing the title) are in Pro version only. In the free version you can relate by attribute (e.g. “color”), but you also need to set attribute value (e.g. “Red”) manually. I.e. if you want to omit setting the attribute value and instead use automatically extracted attribute value of the current product – you will need Pro version of the plugin. As for changing the title – it’s in Pro version only.

  4. Hi, I’m interested in purchasing! I have a couple categories and sub-categories that contain wholesale-only products. I’ve been able to hide them from product search, best sellers widget, but they still display in Related Products for non-wholesale customers.

Does your plugin allow to hide wholesale-only products from Related Products on single product pages? If so, can you explain how to enact? Thanks!

    1. Hi Bill,

Sorry for a late reply. “Exclude from Related” (product categories and/or tags) section added in plugin version 1.4.2 (it’s in “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager > Exclude”).

  5. Hello! I just purchased your plugin and I want to show related products by attribute but it still just shows random products. Is there I’m something I’m doing wrong?

    1. Hi,

Could you please try clicking “clear all products transients” link in plugin’s settings (at the top of the page at “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager”). If that doesn’t help – maybe I could log in to your site’s admin to check what’s going on? My private email is [email protected].

    2. If anyone else has a similar question – as we’ve figured out in private emails – the problem was that “Attribute type” was set to “Local attribute” in plugin’s settings. This means that we are trying to relate by attributes created on product’s edit page (i.e. locally) instead of attributes created in “Products > Attributes” (i.e. “Global attribute”). After changing the type from local to global, the issue seems to be solved.

  6. Hi,

I want to show related products, that are related both by category and color (attribute) to the product. Is it possible to do it with the plugin?

I was testing the free plugin (I entered an explicit attribute value) and it seems it is doing OR relation – it shows related products that I either in the same category OR with the same colour. I would need AND relation.

Would it be possible to do this?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    1. Hi,

If anyone else has a similar question – as we figured out in private emails – in plugin’s version 1.4.0 we have added “Override categories and tags” checkbox option (in “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager > Relate”) which should solve the task.

  7. hi, i just activated the plugin but i can’t see related products widget any where on my product page, is there a short code or something should i add to show related products section?

    1. Hi Max,

Sorry for a late reply. Not sure I understood you correctly. Do you mean you are not seeing “Related Products” meta box on product admin edit page? If that’s correct – please enable “Relate manually” checkbox in “WooCommerce > Settings > Related Products Manager > Relate”.

Please let me know if I misunderstood you.

  8. Hello

I recently bought your Related Products Manager for WooCommerce plugin and it works fine.

I use it to display products by global attribute. But I want to display related products by subcategories in addition to this.

Please suggest how I can do it?

    Waiting for your reply.

    1. Hi, also waiting for an answer to this.

I’d like to first display the related products it finds through global attribute, THEN category.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. We want to be able to manually add related products to some products but allow other products to follow the default WooCommerce random selection from the displayed product's allocated category, is this possible?

A. Yes, that is possible. When you enable "Relate manually" option, then new "Related Products" meta box is added to each product's edit page. If you leave "Enable" option in that meta box in its default state (i.e. "No") then this product will use standard WooCommerce related products (i.e. by category and/or tag). If you set "Enable" option to "Yes", then it will override the default related products for this product.

Q. I'm relating products by attribute, but I'm still seeing products related by category on frontend.

A. Please check if there are any products to relate to by chosen attribute. If your product is the only one with this attribute, then WooCommerce will show other products (e.g. related by category) instead.
