Andreas
ParticipantHello, quick update:
I have managed to get it to work as desired. Only the point ‘DE’ is not yet solved:
How do I make it so that a private person from Germany orders with 7% VAT and a company from Germany also orders with 7% VAT? Currently 0% VAT is displayed for companies from DE.
Thank you for your help,
AndreasJanuary 2, 2025 at 11:41 am #156749Hi Andreas,
Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for not replying to you earlier.
I wanted to ask if your store’s country is set to Germany (DE). If it is, you will need to enable the “Keep VAT in selected countries” option and choose Base. This ensures that when customers place an order and provide a valid VAT number, they will still pay VAT according to the rules.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue or if further assistance is needed.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Taha,
Thanks for the tip. Yes, I have already tried this. Unfortunately, the VAT is hidden when I enter a VAT number as a company from Germany. In this case, Germany is treated as a country from the EU/non-EU. Unfortunately, this is not correct. And yes, the shop is from Germany.
In Woocommerce I have generally entered (*) 7% for ‘reduced rates’.
Any idea what I can do? So far everything has worked perfectly, but unfortunately this case is giving me a headache.
Best regards,

ParticipantI have also tried the ‘Keep VAT for this product’ option for several products. Same behaviour, the VAT disappears.
January 2, 2025 at 12:55 pm #156752Hi Again,
Thank you for your quick response! I understand the issue, but it’s quite unusual. If you’ve selected the option to keep VAT, it should indeed be applied.
Could you confirm if you’re using the latest version of the plugin (3.2.2)? Additionally, please try disabling the “Companies” settings and test again to see if that resolves the issue. If not, it would be helpful if you could share some screenshots of your current settings.
Alternatively, you can grant me direct access to your store using this email address: [email protected]. Kindly send the credentials to the same email, and I’ll escalate this to our development team if necessary.
Looking forward to your reply!

ParticipantHi Taha,
unfortunaltely my screenshots are not shown here. Therefore I will send the scrteenshots to the mail above. And yes, I use 3.2.2. Where could I find the “Companies” settings?

ParticipantAccording to the documentation
3. Preserve VAT in store base countries:
EU VAT regulations require stores to preserve VAT for sales inside the store base country (as defined in WooCommerce >> Settings >> General >> Store Address), the plugin allows you to keep VAT for companies that have a VAT number within the store same country.
that should be working, but not in our case 🙁
January 4, 2025 at 12:30 pm #156854Hi Andreas,
I’ve received your messages via email and replied to you there, so we’ll now continue our conversation through email.
I’ve escalated the issue to our development team because I tried the proper settings, but the VAT is still being exempted for German orders. We’ll contact you as soon as we resolve the issue.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

ParticipantSwitching to “classic checkout” solved the “problem” at the moment.
Great support … thumbs up!
