Slugs Manager Troubleshooting

No Old Slugs Found

  • While this message is positive, it’s good practice to occasionally refresh the list (click “Refresh List”) to ensure the information is up-to-date.

If you suspect there might be old slugs, consider these options

  • Manually update permalinks: Go to Settings > Permalinks and click “Save Changes” to regenerate permalinks. This might reveal old ones.
  • Check another plugin: Another plugin could be creating the old slugs. Try temporarily deactivating other plugins to isolate the issue.

Automatic Clean Ups Not Working (Pro Version)

  • Verify Pro Activation: Ensure you have activated the Slugs Manager Pro plugin with a valid license.
  • Check Scheduled Tasks: Some hosting providers limit scheduled tasks. Contact your hosting provider to confirm if scheduled cleanups are supported.
  • Cron Jobs: If your hosting uses cron jobs, ensure they are configured correctly for Slugs Manager Pro to run its scheduled tasks. You might need to consult your hosting provider for assistance.
  • Plugin Conflicts: Try temporarily deactivating other plugins to see if a conflict is preventing automatic cleanups.

Clean Up on Save Post Not Working (Pro Version)

  • Pro Version Activated: Double-check that you have activated the Pro version and have the necessary features enabled.
  • Plugin Conflicts: Similar to automatic cleanups, deactivate other plugins to identify potential conflicts.
  • Permissions: In rare cases, permission issues might prevent the plugin from modifying the database. Check with your hosting provider if this is a possibility.

Regenerate Slugs Not Working (Pro Version)

  • Pro Version Activated: Confirm you have activated the Slugs Manager Pro plugin.
  • Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate other plugins to see if a conflict is hindering the regeneration process.
  • Large Datasets: Regenerating slugs for a massive amount of content can take time. Be patient and allow the process to complete, especially for large websites.
  • Server Issues: If the regeneration process times out or encounters errors, your web server might be overloaded. Contact your hosting provider for assistance.
