LuigiJuly 5, 2023 at 2:44 pm #119711Hi Luigi,
Our plugin generates valid but random EANs. This means that it’s not guaranteed that EANs will be unique worldwide (it’s unique in your shop, though) or assigned to the correct brand.
You would need to buy EAN codes from GS1 in order to utilize them on Amazon since the company only accepts EANs from them.
So if you are selling your own products on Amazon and need truly unique EANs, you will have to buy them from GS1, and then you can use our “Assign from the list” tool to automatically distribute your purchased EANs to new/existing products in your shop.
If you don’t want to buy EANs and still want to generate EANs automatically with our tool, you can probably try setting the “Country prefix (from)” option to a different value; however, I’m not really sure if this will help.
Hope that clears it up. And please let me know if you’ll have any questions.
Kind regards,

ParticipantHi Moshtafizur
This is not good news .. The question is: Why bother to create barcodes if they are not recognized by major structures? Not always companies realize on time what is really needed and they get what “seems” to be valid and available on the market. I would suggest to make clear this exception in your application …
July 10, 2023 at 8:55 am #119892Hi there,
Thanks for your reply.
While developing this plugin, we didn’t add the feature to generate the EAN codes. But some of our clients requested that we add the feature so that they could use it to create a Google product feed. But thanks for your suggestion.
Kind regards,
