Extract part (number) from item name

    If I have an item with name ‘Whiskey 1985 750ml’ would I be able to extract the 1985 year information from the name of the item and have that become a custom field called ‘year’ for my xml feed? It would need to be able to determine that a 4 digit number is a year.
