Hello,
Recently I installed your plugin and regardless of the VAT number it returns “Invalid VAT”. All VATs tested are registered to EU VIES.
So, I have enabled the debug mode and the log says “INFO Error: SoapClient class does not exist”.
Can you please help me understand what the problem is?Thank you in advance,

I found out that SoapClient class is not available on my webhost at the moment.
So I guess I should use another validation method. However is seems noone is working.When I set cURL, the following error appears on the log: “INFO Error: VAT ID not valid (Country: [DE]; VAT ID: [191317292]; Company: []; Method: [curl])”
When I set simple, the following error appears on the log: “INFO Error: No response (Country: [DE]; VAT ID: [191317292]; Company: []; Method: [file_get_contents])”How can I solve this issue?

SOAP is the most reliable method for validation, is there anyway the host can include it?
I will be happy to look further (need wp-admin & probably FTP) to make simple or cURL works, but from time to time, you might get issues on these methods, please contact us at [email protected] to see.

Hello there Francesco,
I was facing the same issue only on one of the websites that is using this plugin (different hosting environment). After contacting the hosting admin, they had to install php-soap and update php-curl library to its latest version.
After these two actions the issue has been resolved. Maybe you should try the above too!

Unluckly for this project we are using Elementor Cloud and at the moment it does not support SOAP protocol. I’ll try ask them to update the curl-library, btw.
Update: unfortunately, cURL extension is enabled and update, but plugin still not working.

Francesco, I’ve checked again recently on VIES site, it seems they don’t support anything other than SOAP now, so cURL won’t work, check #18 here.
