Verifying company name matching

    Hi, I’m thinking of going for the Pro, because of the selection for certain countries but also because of the check of VAT number and company name. How does the last feature work exactly, how is the match checked? On exact name in VIES or?

    I have installed the PRO plugin. The match company name and VAT number is very precise. Missing punctiation marks like point or comma are not accepted.

    In some cases the match is invalid, even though it is exactly like the VIES registration.

    I have an example but it’s company private information I can’t share here.

    Is there a way to make the match less exact, like 2 to 3 words match?

    Hi Marielle,

    Thanks for becoming a Pro user, honestly that’s a very common issue in company name matching, we face this with many customers and that’s why it’s set as disabled by default.

    Having a tolerance for 2-3 characters, or match part of the company means we might verify other companies with similar names, which doesn’t sound a good idea. Also keep in mind that many companies employees don’t know the official (registered) name of their companies, making it harder for them to match the info correctly.

    For the company that is matching VIES 100%, please send us to [email protected], we will be glad to get this fixed, along with your other concerns as well.
