Why aren’t our users receiving the verification email?

    We have been using the Email Verification for WooCommerce plugin for a couple of months now. It has been working well and helped us to combat problems with bots/spam accounts. Currently, we are using version 2.1.9. However, on the 15th Sept, users started emailing our support team complaining that they do not receive the verification email when prompted to verify their account before logging in.

    Effected users say the email is not in their spam/junk folders.

    Effected users have a variety of email clients (Gmail, Hotmail, qq, etc)

    Mail function is set to WooCommerce but we have also tested WordPress and users still do not receive the email.

    Users have confirmed that they successfully receive other emails from the same address: order receipts, password resets, etc.

    What is strange is that, I have tested this myself: I have unverified my own account to test the verification process and I successfully receive the email. So, I cannot understand why these users do not receive it.

    Note: There have been over 20 users that have contacted us about this issue, so it seems unlikely that it is user error.




    I just tested by creating an account on your website and received the email successfully.

    Is it possible for you to share your WordPress dashboard access and we can take a look for you? You can send your details to [email protected]

    Also if you could share any error log from your hosting account it might help us troubleshoot the issue.
