Hi there,
I have purchased a pro version in order to use minimum order quantity feature on a per product basis. All set and working so far, but there’s one super annoying feature which I’d like to disable but with no success so far. Lets say I have three products in a shop: A, B and C. I’m enabling minimum quantity for product A, let’s say: min 10 pieces. Now if a customer adds 5 pieces of product A, notification pops “Hey you need at least 10 pieces of product A”. That’s great. But when customer goes from product A to product B or C the very same notification appears on product page, be it B or C, and says “Hey you need at least 10 pieces of product A”. That’s quite confusing actually and is looking pretty bad too. I’d rather have notification only displayed for product for which some sort of limitation is enabled, but not for others. There’s another notification on the cart page if validation criteria are not met so no need to bother people with the very same notification on each product page.
Will appreciate your guidance on that matter. Many thanks in advance.
April 13, 2021 at 6:28 pm #92991JacekGuestOne more question: isn’t there a way to prevent customer from adding to cart product with minimum quantity enabled? Currently, if there’s a product with min enabled, let’s say min=10, customer can still add eg. 2 pieces just to get notification “Hey you need 10 pieces at least”. Wouldn’t it make more sense to disable add to cart button if minimum requirement is not met or to set default minimum for this particular product to 10+ or any other way to address this in a more efficient manner?

April 19, 2021 at 12:21 pm #92993ZohaibParticipantHi Jacek,
Apologies for the late reply. The notices on product pages is a recently added feature and can be disabled from the Messages tab in the plugin’s settings. I have also escalated this usability issue with our development team.
As for your second request, for limiting quantity selections on product pages, I have also escalated this with our development team and I will get back to you soon and let you know if this is something that can be added maybe in future versions of the plugin.
April 19, 2021 at 6:14 pm #92994JacekGuestWould be lovely if you could include the aforementioned amendments. I think it’s pretty important for certain user cases. Is there any timeline for next update?
April 20, 2021 at 11:36 am #92995ZohaibParticipantHi Jacek,
The product page notices issue is already being worked on.
As for the quantity selection issue on the product pages, It may take some time and we still need to consider the possibility of this working.
April 21, 2021 at 1:16 pm #92996JacekGuestWas hoping that update 4.0.2 -> 4.0.3 will address the issues described above but with no luck. Still waiting.
April 22, 2021 at 6:12 pm #92997ZohaibParticipantHi Jacek,
Actually V 4.0.3 was released to address the specific issue with the notices displaying on irrelevant product pages.
Can you please update to the latest version, then go to:
Messages > Product page > Smart product scope and enable that option.
April 22, 2021 at 7:07 pm #92998JacekGuestHi Zoahib,
Indeed! I missed the new tick-box “smart product scope”. Thank you for addressing this issue so quickly.
If there was a way to make the plugin even more efficient and client friendly by setting default amount for particular product with minimum in place equal to that minimum, so that the client actually can’t add to basket 2 pieces when the minimum is set to eg. 4 – that would be truly splendid.
I think it is possible as it is one of the features of other plugin sold by WPFactory: “Product Quantity (Min/Max/Step) for WooCommerce”. Part of the plugin description:
Default Quantity Control
Would you like to show a different quantity (other than 1) on product page load? The plugin will allow you to create a default quantity that appears on product page when your customers are browsing the store.
This default quantity can be useful when the default behaviour for the purchase is not to get only 1, some products are usually sold by quantity of 10, although customers can get lower than that, but that’s not default.
You can define default quantity for all products at once, per product, or per category with a matter of simple clicks!
Many thanks for your support,
Jacek
April 23, 2021 at 12:36 pm #92999JacekGuestHi Zohaib,
Seems there’s a bug in new “smart scope” feature. Seems that when product with minimum quantity specified is added to the cart in quantity equal or higher than the minimum set, following error pops on every product page:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/XXXX/domains/XXXXX/public_html/wp-content/plugins/order-minimum-amount-for-woocommerce-pro/includes/pro/class-alg-wc-oma-pro-products.php on line 229
I’ve just sent you an email with further details.
April 26, 2021 at 2:31 pm #93000ZohaibParticipantHi,
The plugin you are mentioning Product Min/Max Step is by a different author on our marketplace. We will consider your suggestion though. We are already looking into restricting quantity selections based on min/max limits. As for the bug, we will get back to you on email. The development team is looking into it.
May 14, 2021 at 7:20 pm #93001ZohaibParticipantHi,
In the upcoming version of the plugin V 4.0.5 there are a number of new options in order to address the issue of quantity selection based on limits on the product page.
There are 4 new quantity options related to this request:
For the quantity input
Set default quantity based on “Per product” minimum limits
Set minimum parameter based on “Per product” minimum limits
Set maximum parameter based on “Per product” maximum limitsFor the add to cart button
Set quantity on loop pages based on “Per product” minimum limits
These options will only be available if the amount type is set as quantity.
The “default quantity” option is the only one available in the free version of the plugin. All the other ones are on the PRO version only.
