Why is the notice not displaying correctly on the cart page?

    When attempting to click “Add to Cart” for a product that has already been purchased and reached the maximum quantity, the Cart Notice error message is not displaying on the cart page – only later on the checkout page.

    I have set:
    Frontend -> Cart Notice -> Enable
    Frontend -> Cart Notice -> Error

    I need to ensure that customers are notified on the cart page that they’ve reached the maximum.

    Hi James,

    Could it be that the limits are not set up correctly in that case?

    Also, have you tried the options under Frontend > Product limit message ?  Using these options you can display the limit message on the product page. Please let me know if this works and the cart notice still does not work.
