GuestAny easy way to find out inventory value by select categories?
August 2, 2021 at 6:04 am #89719Zohaib
ParticipantHi Hasan,
Unfortunately, it is not possible with the plugin, however, if you download the stock report from WooCommerce > Reports > Stock > Cost of goods, you can use excel to find the stock values per category. You can either simply apply filters on the columns, or use an advanced method such as pivot tables. Hope this helps.

ParticipantHello, I downloaded the stock report from WooCommerce > Reports > Stock > Cost of goods, but there is no way to filter the colum by category, because the product category is not part of the report and is therefore not exported.
The only colums that are part of the report and and exported are:
#
Product ID
SKU
Title
Stock
Cost
Price
Profit
Total Cost
Total Price
Total ProfitPlease tell me a good fix for this, because I must be able to report to government how much inventory I have of certain categories at the end of the month.

ParticipantHi Hasan,
As mentioned earlier it is not possible to get stock reports by category, and you would have to use advanced methods such as pivot tables in excel to get category stock reports.
I have, however, passed your request to our development team, they will review the viability of this and get back to you soon.
August 12, 2021 at 2:40 am #89722Hi Hasan,
Instead of using the Reports > Stock > Cost of goods, would it work for you if we could add 3 new columns (cost, profit and category) to the Analytics > Stock report?

ParticipantTo be honest I am not to expereience with the analytics section in WooCommerce. I just check it out, and I think your idea would work.
Would i be able to sort the excel file and be able to tell how much total stock value I have of a certain category?
August 13, 2021 at 3:05 pm #89724Great then 🙂
Yes, you can sort the excel file by any column you want. And in order to tell how much stock you have from a specific category you’d need the filter function.
For example, if your stock column is D and your category column is G and you want to calculate the total stock from category “Tshirts” this is an example of what you could try:
=SUM(filter(D2:D,SEARCH("Tshirts",G2:G)))
I’ve used the number 2 because it’s the first row where the content really starts

ParticipantAwesome. So will you send out an update of the plugin? because I dont see those columns added to the analytics section as of right now.
Thank you.
August 16, 2021 at 10:06 pm #89726Hi Hasan,
Yes. Please update the plugin to version 2.4.5 I just released.
There will be 3 new options I’ve created for you:– Tools & Reports > Analytics > Stock > Add “Cost” and “Profit” columns
– Tools & Reports > Analytics > Stock > Add “Category” column
– Tools & Reports > Analytics > Stock > Add filter allowing to restrict the queryLet me know if it works 😉

ParticipantI updated the plug in and enabled these 3 options in the setting.
However I dont see these options anywhere on the actual report.
For reference, I am looking in Analytics>Stock
I click the 3 dots and dont see any new options.
August 17, 2021 at 1:24 pm #89728Hi,
After you enable the options, there will be 3 new columns at the Analytics > Stock. Please take a look at the screenshot
After that, if you click on the download button, you’ll get the CSV with the new columns as well.
Let me know if it helps 😉

ParticipantHello, I am not seeing the columns you are referencing. Please see attached screenshots of what I am seeing on my end, along with my current plug in settings:

August 20, 2021 at 7:55 pm #89730Hi Hasan,
This is not the option I’ve created for you 🙂
You need to access the Tools & Reports section first and then you’ll find some Analytics options. Please take a look at the screenshotAugust 21, 2021 at 3:34 pm #89731Hasan Ali
ParticipantHello, I am not seeing a “Tools & Reports” section. can you please tell me where to find this? Also the screen shot you provided is just a screenshot of the settings options. I already have these 3 options enabled.
Could you perhaps do a screen recording showing the entire process beginning to end?

ParticipantI think I understand what you were saying in your last comment. To be clear, I have already enabled all 3 check boxes in the Cost of Goods settings section.
However, when I go to Analytics>Stock, I am NOT seeing the 3 new columns active.
Regarding this screenshot: https://ibb.co/T80PwQ0 , I am NOT seeing those 3 new columns.
I have already tried clearing analytics cache as well
