Max. quantity works well on product page, but the customer can trick it.
If the max. quantity is 2, then the customer can put 2 items in the cart in one step, and another 2 items in another step. There is no any message to the customer., and the customer can repeat it until reaching the stock level. Or my settings are wrong?June 23, 2023 at 6:43 pm #119081

Sorry for such a late reply.
If I was able to understand correctly, you want each user to order only two items of a product? Please let us know if I am not correct.

Yes. It is the function of max. quantity, or not?July 26, 2023 at 7:26 am #120860
Our Min Max Default Quantity for WooCommerce plugin allows you to limit the customer’s purchase per order; it doesn’t offer a per-user limitation.
To address your unique need, we recommend using our other plugin, Maximum Products Per User for WooCommerce. This plugin is specifically designed to help you limit the number of products a single user can purchase from your store. By using Maximum Products per User, you can easily set a limit of, for example, 2 purchases per user, ensuring that each customer can only order a specific quantity of products from your store.
We encourage you to give our Maximum Products Per User for WooCommerce plugin a try.

Perhaps I was not clear.
The problem is with the maximum per order, not the maximum per user.
Let’s assume that the maximum quantity value is 2 for a product.
The steps are:
1. Customer adds 2 products to his cart. No more than that, the quantity field does not allow more than 2.
2. The buyer stays on the product page and can put 2 products in the cart again. No error message is displayed, in fact the message says that 2 products have been added to the cart.
3. However, when viewing the cart, only 2 products are in the basket, which is correct.
The problem is with the message displayed in step 2. The correct solution would be for the plugin to check how many of the given product is in the cart. It then subtracts this value from the maximum amount that can be purchased and only allows the remaining value to be added to the cart.July 27, 2023 at 3:16 pm #120950
Thank you for providing us with further details about the issue you are facing.
In light of the situation, we recommend navigating to the “General” section of the plugin and setting the “”Add to Cart” validation” to the “Validate and add notices” option. By doing so, the plugin will effectively validate the amount when the “add to cart” button is clicked, and it will display an error notice should users attempt to add items beyond the specified limit.
Please give it a try. Let us know if you face any issues.

Thank you, it works! (Although it shows “Error” style notice even I set “Notice” as Cart notice type.)
By the way: Where can I find the full documentation of this plugin?
