Extra Tools: Flush Rewrite Rules not working #
If the free Flush Rewrite Rules button in Slugs Manager: Delete Old Permalinks from WordPress Database (WPFactory > Slugs Manager, Extra Tools section) does not fix your permalinks, go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes, then clear any page cache, object cache, or CDN so old URLs are not served.
The Flush button did not fix my permalinks #
- Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes. This is the standard WordPress way to rebuild rewrite rules and often resolves what a flush alone does not.
- Clear any caching layer (page cache, object cache, or a CDN). A stale cache can keep serving old URLs after the rules are rebuilt.
- Deactivate and reactivate Slugs Manager, then flush again. Reactivation re-registers the plugin cleanly.
- Check whether another plugin (SEO, redirects, or a custom post type plugin) is registering conflicting rewrite rules.
When to flush rewrite rules #
You usually only need to flush after changing your permalink structure or after adding or removing content types. Slugs Manager exposes the button so you can do it without editing your permalink settings.
