Rounding and Pretty Prices (Final Price Correction)

Rounding and pretty prices in WooCommerce #

After a bulk change, prices often land on awkward numbers like 8.4732. The Final Price Correction section of the Price Update: Bulk Pricing Editor for WooCommerce cleans them up with rounding and charm-price shaping. All three fields in this section are Pro.

Before you start #

  • Bulk Price Editor Pro. Final Price Correction is Pro only.
  • Open the tool at WooCommerce > Bulk Price Converter (also reachable from the Bulk price converter tool button at WPFactory > Bulk Price Converter).

Final Price Correction: Rounding function, Rounding coefficient, and Pretty prices threshold

Rounding function and coefficient #

Rounding runs on the price after all the math (percentage, multiply, and so on) is done.

Field Option ID Default Options
Rounding function alg_wc_bpc_round_function none None, Round (nearest), Floor (down), Ceil (up)
Rounding coefficient alg_wc_bpc_round_coef 0.05 The step to round to

The result is rounded to the nearest multiple of the coefficient. With Round and a coefficient of 0.05, a price of 8.47 becomes 8.45. With a coefficient of 1 and Ceil, 8.47 becomes 9. The coefficient is ignored when the function is None.

“Pretty prices” threshold #

alg_wc_bpc_pretty_prices_threshold (default 0, which turns it off) shapes prices into charm endings, the psychological “ends in 9” style.

  • Prices below the threshold are pulled down to a .99 ending. For example 49.49 becomes 48.99, and 49.50 becomes 49.99.
  • Prices at or above the threshold are shaped to end in 9. For example 114 becomes 109, and 115 becomes 119.

Set the threshold to the price point where you want the behavior to switch. Preview first, since the two modes round in opposite directions around the threshold.

Order of the corrections #

Within a run the sequence is fixed: the price math happens first, then Rounding function, then the price is rounded to your store’s decimal setting, and finally the Pretty prices shaping. If you use both rounding and pretty prices, pretty prices has the last word.

Use cases #

  • Keep every price on a clean 5-cent or 10-cent step after a percentage change.
  • Move a whole catalog to charm pricing (x.99) in one pass.
  • Round up (Ceil) to protect margins after a supplier cost increase.
