Theme or Plugin Conflict Prevents MSRP Price from Displaying

Problem #

If MSRP (RRP) Pricing for WooCommerce is configured correctly but the MSRP price disappears or behaves inconsistently, a theme or plugin that overrides the WooCommerce price template or renders prices with JavaScript is usually the cause. Test with Storefront, disable non-essential plugins, re-enable them one by one, and exclude the price markup from JavaScript optimization.

Common symptoms #

  • MSRP appears sometimes, then disappears after updates.
  • The shop and cart pages show different price behavior.
  • JavaScript or layout issues around the price.

Cause #

Themes or plugins that override the WooCommerce price template, or that render prices with JavaScript, can prevent MSRP from displaying. MSRP Pricing adds its output through the woocommerce_get_price_html filter, so anything that replaces that output after the fact will hide the MSRP.

Solution, step by step #

  1. Switch to a default theme. Test with Storefront to confirm whether the theme is responsible.
  2. Disable non-essential plugins. Focus on pricing, discount, currency and checkout plugins.
  3. Re-enable plugins one by one. Reactivate them until the MSRP disappears again to find the conflicting one.
  4. Exclude price elements from JavaScript optimization. If you use a JS minify or defer plugin, exclude the price markup so it is not altered.

Prevention #

  • Retest pricing plugins after every theme update.
  • Use a child theme for any price template customizations.
