three things WooCommerce native can't do ↓

One checkout form. Three different problems.

Out of the box, WooCommerce gives you a fixed set of billing and shipping fields, no way to add anything custom, no conditional logic, no way to charge for an option a customer picks. The moment your store needs anything beyond a name and address, you either learn to code or pile on plugins.

problem · 1

The checkout form is fixed. You need it to ask 3 more things.

Gift messagemissing✕ no native field
Delivery datemissing✕ no native field
VAT numbermissing✕ no native field

WooCommerce ships with billing and shipping address blocks. That's it. Want to capture a gift message, allergy list, business tax ID, or preferred delivery slot? You'd be writing PHP today.

problem · 2

Every customer sees every field, even the ones that don't apply.

checkout · US shopper
VAT number (EU only)
Company name (B2B only)
Delivery instructions
→ form bloat, cart abandonment

Forms that ask irrelevant questions get abandoned. Without conditional logic, a B2B field shows to consumers, an EU tax field shows to US buyers, and your conversion rate pays the price.

problem · 3

Customers pick "gift wrap" and pay nothing extra.

Gift wrap$0.00→ should be +$5.00
Rush delivery$0.00→ should be +$12.00
Engraving$0.00→ should be +$8.00
3 chosen extras · 0 fees collected · margin gone

A custom field that doesn't charge for itself is a feature that costs you money. Manually adjusting orders for every gift-wrap or rush-delivery request is 10 minutes per order you'll never get back.

eight controls you'll use ↓

Every field type. Every rule. Every checkout section.

The plugin does four jobs: add any field type to checkout, gate it with conditional rules, charge a fee tied to the customer's choice, and display the captured value in the admin order, customer email, and thank-you page.

types · 20+ built-in

Twenty-plus field types. From text to file upload.

Every type accepts a custom label, placeholder, default value, and CSS class. Pickers ship with full localization.

show · conditional rules

If cart, country, role, or another field, then show.

Rules combine with AND/OR. Triggers: cart total, products, categories, user role, country, state, payment method, shipping method, other custom-field values.

valid · client + server

Validation rules customers can't bypass.

Browser validation for instant feedback, server validation on submit so editing the HTML doesn't get past it. Custom error messages per rule.

fees · per choice

Pick "gift wrap" → +$5 lands in the cart.

place · 14+ sections

Drop a field anywhere on the checkout page.

Each section has its own field stack, ordered by drag handle in the admin. Custom sections you can name yourself.

display · admin + email

Captured values appear where you need them.

Per-field toggles. A sensitive internal field can be hidden from the customer surfaces and only shown to the admin.

style · CSS hooks

Custom CSS class per field, no theme edits.

io · JSON backup

Export your fields. Import on staging. Move with one file.

Full field config (types, rules, fees, validators) round-trips through a single JSON file. Diffable, version-controllable.

setup

Four steps. Live in under 10 minutes.

i · install

Activate the plugin

Upload the .zip from Plugins → Add New, then activate.

ii · add field

WooCommerce → Settings → Custom Checkout Fields. Click "Add field", pick a type (text, date, checkbox, file...), set the label.

three real stores ↓

Three stores. Three checkout problems solved.

gift shop · checkbox + fee

Gift shop · "Add a gift-wrap option that actually charges."

A handmade-soap shop adds a "Gift wrap +$5" checkbox right before order notes, with a follow-up text area for the gift message. The fee posts to the cart as a proper WooCommerce fee, the message lands on the admin order page and the customer email so the packing team sees it without opening WP-admin.

Fields addedGift wrap (checkbox +$5) · Gift message (textarea, 200 chars)
RuleMessage field shows only if Gift wrap is ticked
DisplayAdmin order + customer email · hidden from My Account

Gift-wrap attach rate at checkout went from 6% (manual contact-us workflow) to 22%. The +$5 fee covers the supplies with margin to spare.

subscription box · multiselect

Subscription box · "Capture allergies before the first delivery."

A weekly meal-kit box needs allergy info on the first order. A multiselect field (gluten, dairy, nuts, shellfish, none) sits above the order notes, conditional on cart containing a subscription product. The selections write to the order, surface in the admin order page and the warehouse pick-list email, and copy to the customer's account so renewals reuse them.

FieldAllergies (multiselect · 5 options)
RuleVisible IF cart contains category = subscription
DisplayAdmin order · warehouse pick email · My Account

First-week allergy-related support tickets dropped from 14% of new orders to under 1%. The pick-list team gets the constraint up-front instead of mid-pack.

why this plugin

Built for stores where checkout has to ask more than just an address.

Every WPFactory plugin ships with the same eight guarantees. Here's what running this one looks like in practice.

Clean code, reviewed

Field definitions are stored as options (no extra database tables). Conditional logic evaluates client-side via a small inline script and re-validates server-side on submit. Frontend impact is a few kilobytes of inline JS and zero AJAX calls in the default config.

Docs & specs, written

Every filter is documented (alg_wc_checkout_field_value, alg_wc_checkout_field_validate, plus visibility, fee, and display filters). Each field type has its own settings reference.

Support that ships

See Aleksy's review: a requested feature shipped in a couple of hours. Real bug reports become releases within days, not quarters.

14-day money-back

14-day refund on yearly and lifetime, 30 days on All Access, no questions asked. If a field type doesn't behave the way you'd hoped, support helps; if it still doesn't fit, you walk away whole.

Bundle savings, real

All Access is $499 once for all 50+ plugins, lifetime, unlimited sites, and it includes every plugin we release later. Three lifetime licenses at $199 already cost $597, so the bundle usually wins by your third plugin.

Updates, regularly

v1.9.5 shipped recently. Tested against the latest WooCommerce within days of every release. HPOS-ready, PHP 8.3 compatible. Block-checkout coverage tracks the WC roadmap.

Plays well with others

Compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions, WPML, Polylang, PDF Invoices & Packing Slips, WooCommerce Analytics. Custom field values write to both HPOS order tables and legacy postmeta, so order-meta-reading plugins still see the data.

Designed for store owners

You don't need to know how WooCommerce hooks work. Pick a field type, label it, drop it where it should appear, add the rule that gates it. Saved. The plugin handles the checkout-side rendering, validation, and post-order display.

questions

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, our support replies fast. Or read the docs.

What field types does the plugin support?
Twenty-plus types: text, textarea, number, email, tel, password, URL, select, multiselect, radio, checkbox, single checkbox, date picker, time picker, file upload, country, state, heading, paragraph, hidden, and HTML. Every type accepts a custom label, placeholder, default value, and CSS class.
Can a field show or hide based on what's in the cart?
Yes. Each field has conditional rules that can trigger on cart total, specific products in the cart, product categories, user role, customer country or state, payment method, shipping method, or even the value of another custom field. Rules combine with AND/OR logic.
Can a checkout field add a fee to the order?
Yes. Any field can be tied to a fee: fixed amount per choice, percentage of cart total, or a per-unit multiplier. Pick the gift-wrap checkbox, the $5 charge appears in the cart totals immediately, and lands on the final order as a proper WooCommerce fee.
Where exactly can the fields be placed on the checkout page?
Fourteen-plus locations: above/below the billing block, above/below the shipping block, before/after the order notes, before/after each payment gateway, before/after the order total, in the order review table, and in three custom sections you can name yourself.
Will the captured values appear in the admin order and customer emails?
Yes. Each field has independent toggles for: admin order page, customer order email, admin order email, order confirmation (thank-you) page, and the My Account order details view. Sensitive fields can be hidden from the customer-facing surfaces.
Does the plugin work with the WooCommerce block checkout?
Yes for the classic checkout (full feature set) and partial support for the block checkout. WooCommerce's block checkout exposes a limited subset of customization hooks; the plugin uses every one available and ships an opt-in classic-checkout fallback for stores that need the full field library.
Can the same field require different things for different customers?
Yes. Required-versus-optional is itself a conditional rule. A VAT number can be required only when the country is in the EU. A company name can be required only when the cart total crosses a B2B threshold. The rule engine drives required state, visibility, and fee triggers from the same condition set.
What validation rules are built in?
Numeric range, character length min/max, regex patterns, email format, URL format, date range, and a free-form custom error message. The validator runs on the server, so customers cannot bypass it by editing the HTML.
Will this slow my checkout?
No. Field definitions are stored as options (no extra database tables). Conditional logic evaluates client-side via a small inline script and re-validates server-side on submission. Frontend impact is a few kilobytes of inline JS and zero AJAX calls in the default config.
Is the plugin HPOS-compatible?
Yes. HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage) is declared compatible. Custom field values are written to both the new high-performance order tables and the legacy postmeta layer, so other plugins reading order meta the old way still see the data.
What is the refund policy?
14 days on the yearly and lifetime plans; 30 days on All Access. No questions asked. The yearly plan also includes an upgrade credit toward Lifetime or All Access. Lifetime never renews. Yearly auto-renew can be turned off in your account.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free version on WordPress.org covers the core field-builder UI and the basic field types (text, textarea, select, checkbox, date). The Pro version adds the full 20-plus field library, conditional logic, fees from field choices, validation rules, file upload, and import/export.
