If the Add to Cart button still shows the default text after you set a label in Change Add to Cart Button Text for WooCommerce, the most common cause is a section that is not enabled. Go to WPFactory > Add to Cart Button Labels, open the section you used, tick Enable section, and save again.
1. The section is not enabled #
Each section has its own Enable section checkbox, and every section is off by default. Go to WPFactory > Add to Cart Button Labels (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Add to Cart Button Labels), open the section you used, confirm Enable section is ticked, and save again.
2. The master switch is off #
On the General tab, Add to Cart Button Labels (Enable plugin) must be ticked. If it was unticked, every label rule is dormant even when individual sections are on.
3. The label field is empty #
An empty field is ignored on purpose, so WooCommerce keeps its default text. Make sure you filled in the correct view: Single product page affects the product page, Shop page affects listings.
4. A more specific rule is overriding it #
When several sections match, the most specific one wins. The order is All Products, Per Product Type & Condition, Per Product Category, Per Product Tag, Per Product, Per User Role, then Per User. If you set an All Products label but the product also has a Per Product label, the Per Product label shows. Check the more specific sections for a leftover value.
5. You are testing an “On sale” product on the free version #
The On sale condition is a Pro feature. On the free version, on-sale detection does not run, so an on-sale label never applies. Use the normal label instead, or upgrade to Pro.
6. Caching #
Clear any page-caching plugin and your browser cache, then reload the product. Cached HTML can keep showing the old button text.
7. The theme replaced the button #
The plugin filters WooCommerce’s standard button-text hooks. A theme or page builder that renders its own custom add-to-cart markup may bypass those hooks. Test with a default theme such as Storefront: if the label appears there, the conflict is in your theme’s template.
Still stuck? #
If none of these fixes it, our team can help through the plugin support page. Include the section you used, the label you entered, and the product type you are testing.
