Speed Up Price Updates When Changing Quantity

Speed up the real-time price update #

If the price takes too long to update when a customer changes the quantity, go to WPFactory > Product Price by Quantity > Price Display by Qty > Advanced Options and lower the Refresh interval (default 500 milliseconds). Also exclude the Price by Quantity & Bulk Quantity Discounts for WooCommerce display script from deferral and minification in your caching plugin.

Symptoms #

  • A noticeable delay after changing the quantity before the price updates.
  • Customers report a laggy quantity field.

Cause #

The price display polls on a fixed interval and calls admin-ajax.php. Slow updates usually come from that interval, from a slow server response, or from caching plugins that defer or minify the plugin’s script.

Fix step by step #

  1. Lower the refresh interval. Go to WPFactory > Product Price by Quantity > Price Display by Qty > Advanced Options and reduce Refresh interval (alg_wc_wholesale_pricing_price_by_qty_display_interval_ms, default 500 milliseconds). A smaller value updates sooner; do not set it so low that it floods the server with requests.
  2. Exclude the plugin script from optimization. In your caching or performance plugin, exclude alg-wc-wholesale-pricing-price-by-qty-display.js from deferral and minification.
  3. Check the console. A JavaScript error from another script can halt the update. Fix those errors.
  4. Check server response time. In the browser Network tab, watch the alg_wc_wholesale_pricing_price_by_qty_display AJAX call. If the server is slow to respond, review hosting or object caching.

Tip: if you use a non-standard quantity input such as the Pro dropdown and the price does not refresh, enable Force standard quantity input (alg_wc_wholesale_pricing_price_by_qty_standard_qty_input) in the same Advanced Options group.
