ParticipantHi –
I’m wondering how you add a cost to a product add-on. For example, I sell mattresses, and all mattress can have an add-on of a bed frame. If the user chooses to add the bed frame (say for $100), how do I add the cost of the bed frame to the cost of the mattress?
Thanks.February 26, 2021 at 6:18 am #89555Zohaib
ParticipantHi,
Are you setting up the addons as a variable product? If so, then you can add the cost to each variation. So you can have a mattress only as a variation and a mattress + bed frame as another variation. In this scenario, you can easily add the cost to each variation.
Or are you using a plugin for product addons?

ParticipantHi – yes sorry, I had forgotten that add-ons are not native to WooCommerce, but it is a plugin. I’m using the standard WooCommerce plugin called “Product Add-Ons” – which allows the user to choose a free or paid add-on to a product – https://woocommerce.com/products/product-add-ons/. The add-on products cannot be purchased separately. So, if a user adds a mattress (cost: $500), then clicks the checkbox to add a Bed Frame (cost: $75), the cart processes the two products (mattress and bed frame), but shows a cost of $500, not $575. Is there any way to have the $75 included in the cost?

ParticipantHi,
Our plugin is not compatible with Product Add-Ons. If possible could you please send the plugin to [email protected] and we can run some tests to see if we can do the integration?

ParticipantYes, will do that now. Thanks.
September 19, 2022 at 11:26 pm #90693Just a note,
We have now a compatibility option with the “Product Add-Ons” plugin at:
– Compatibility > Product AddonsIt will add costs fields for the addons and will create an order meta with addons costs.
It’s necessary to add
_alg_wc_cog_pao_costs
on Orders > Extra Costs: From Meta option. It’s also necessary that addons do not change names once purchased.
