Automatic user deletion

    Hi,

    I have DISABLE the “Verify account for current users” option

    and i have ENABLE the “Delete unverified users from the database automatically” every week.

    I just want to make sure that with this configuration, all the users already registrered before the plugin instalation WILL NOT BE DELETED.

    Hi Fiona,

    If you have the option “Verify account for current users” disabled, then the users registered before the plugin installation will be considered as verified, then they will not be deleted with the Delete option.

    I have a question related to this. I have “Verify account for current users” disabled, but when I filter my users list by “Unverified users” all of my current/previous users show up. Oddly enough, each one has a check by their name in the “Verified” column. At the very least, this is confusing. It also makes me concerned about these users possibly getting deleted if I enable “Delete unverified users from the database automatically.”

    Is it a bug or intentional that these users show up when filtering by “Unverified users”? And can you confirm that they would NOT be deleted if I enable “Delete unverified users from the database automatically”? Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

    Hi Eric,

    Yes, I believe it can be considered as a bug. The Verified/Unverified Filter on the Users page won’t perform very well for users existing prior to the plugin installation if the option “Verify account for current users” is disabled.

    But if you’re not using the filter, and the users are listed as Verified, they are not likely to be deleted. Anyway, it’s always a good idea to have a backup.
