If you leave the “enable email verification for already registered users” UNCHECKED, the already registered users will not be removed.But anyway, it’s never a bad idea to make a backup first, specially when it’s related to users.

But in that case, I think it would be mandatory for the customer to register on the checkout page. I mean, he wouldn’t be able to register on the default “My Account page”. Does it make sense? Would it be ok for you?
