No payment methods for a mixed cart #
When a mixed cart shows no payment methods in Payment Methods by Product & Country for WooCommerce, the product rules leave no overlapping gateway. Fix it by enabling the Pro fallback gateway in the General tab, or by revising your rules so at least one gateway is allowed for every product combination that can share a cart.
Common symptoms #
- A cart with products from different categories, tags or products shows “no payment methods available” at checkout.
- The customer cannot select a payment method and the order cannot complete.
Cause #
Each product’s rules narrow the gateway list. If product A only allows Gateway 1 and product B only allows Gateway 2, the intersection is empty and nothing is left to show. This is expected behavior for conflicting rules, not a bug.
Solution #
- Enable the fallback gateway (Pro). In the General tab, tick Fallback gateway > Enable (
alg_wc_pgpp_advanced_fallback_gateway_enabled) and choose a gateway in Choose fallback gateway (alg_wc_pgpp_advanced_fallback_gateway). It appears only when the rules would otherwise leave zero options, so mixed carts always have a way to pay. - Or leave an overlap. Revise your rules so at least one gateway is allowed across every combination of products that can share a cart. For example, keep Direct Bank Transfer available everywhere.
- Test by adding products from different rule groups and confirming a gateway remains.
Prerequisites #
- The fallback gateway requires Payment Gateways per Products Pro.
- A clear map of which products, categories and tags use which gateways.
