Quantity Manager Shortcodes

Min Max Step Quantity Limits Manager for WooCommerce has five shortcodes: four print the current product’s minimum, maximum, step or price unit, and [wpfmmsq_translate] shows text per language. Use them in product descriptions, templates or WPFactory > Quantity Manager > Quantity Info. All five are free.

Available shortcodes #

Shortcode Outputs
[wpfmmsq_min_product_qty] The current product’s minimum quantity.
[wpfmmsq_max_product_qty] The current product’s maximum quantity.
[wpfmmsq_product_qty_step] The current product’s quantity step.
[wpfmmsq_product_qty_price_unit] The current product’s price unit text (for example “per KG”).
[wpfmmsq_translate] Language-specific text for WPML or Polylang stores.

Attributes #

The quantity shortcodes accept these attributes:

Attribute Effect
before Text or HTML printed before the value (only if a value exists).
after Text or HTML printed after the value.
thousand_sep="yes" Formats large numbers with a thousands separator (1,000 instead of 1000).
unit="yes" Appends the unit label from the Total Price by Quantity section (singular or plural, for example “pc” or “pcs”). Prints nothing if no unit label is set.
price_unit="yes" Appends the text from the Price Unit section (for example “per KG”). Prints nothing if no price unit is set.

Example:

[wpfmmsq_min_product_qty before="Minimum: " after=" units" thousand_sep="yes"]

How the values are worked out #

  • Current product only: the shortcodes read the product WooCommerce is showing. On a normal page or post with no product, they print nothing.
  • Same rules as the quantity box: the value comes from the product, category, attribute or all-products setting that applies, in that order.
  • Empty values: when there is no maximum, [wpfmmsq_max_product_qty] prints nothing, including its before and after text. The minimum and step fall back to 1.
  • Variable products: if the parent has no value of its own, the shortcode shows the range across variations, lowest to highest.

Translation shortcode #

[wpfmmsq_translate] shows text only for the languages you name. Use lang to target languages and not_lang as a fallback:

[wpfmmsq_translate lang="EN"]Minimum quantity is %min_per_item_quantity%.[/wpfmmsq_translate]

There is also a one-line form with lang_text and not_lang_text:

[wpfmmsq_translate lang="DE" lang_text="Mindestmenge erreicht" not_lang_text="Minimum reached"]

See How to show quantity messages in multiple languages for full examples.

Note: the older [alg_wc_pq_*] shortcodes (for example [alg_wc_pq_min_product_qty]) still work as aliases but are deprecated since v5.3.1. There is no standalone [thousand_sep] shortcode; it is an attribute of the quantity shortcodes shown above.

If it does not work #

  • The shortcode prints nothing: it is on a page without a current product, or the value is empty (for example no maximum).
  • The minimum shows 1: the Minimum Quantity section is off, or no minimum applies to this product.
  • unit or price_unit hides the whole line: the matching unit text is not set, so the shortcode returns nothing.

FAQ #

Can I show the maximum order quantity on the product page? #

Yes. Add [wpfmmsq_max_product_qty before="Maximum: "] to the product description, or enable Quantity Info, which places these shortcodes on product and shop pages for you.

Are the shortcodes free? #

Yes. All five shortcodes are in the free version.

Can I pass a product ID? #

No. The shortcodes have no product ID attribute and always use the current product.

Need a hand? #
