In EAN for WooCommerce, everything to do with storing and using product codes is free: adding EAN, UPC, ISBN or GTIN codes, showing and searching them, Google structured data, bulk tools, the REST API and CSV import and export. Pro adds barcode images: linear barcodes, 2D barcodes (such as QR codes), printing barcode labels to PDF, and the Extra Fields section.
What each version includes #
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Add and save a product code (EAN, UPC, ISBN, GTIN) on products and variations | Yes | Yes |
| Show the code on the storefront and search products by it | Yes | Yes |
| Product structured data (GTIN for Google), on by default | Yes | Yes |
| Product and order tools (generate, assign, bulk actions) | Yes | Yes |
| REST API options | Yes | Yes |

| Barcodes (linear barcode images) | No | Yes |

Note: in the free version the enable checkbox of the Barcodes, 2D Barcodes, Print barcodes to PDF and Extra Fields sections is greyed out. That is the Pro boundary, not a bug.
