What the Pro Version of Order Status Rules Adds

The Pro version of Scheduled & Automatic Order Status Controller for WooCommerce unlocks one thing that changes how much you can automate: unlimited order status rules. In the free version you can build a single rule with the full set of conditions and timing options. Pro removes that one-rule limit.

The core Pro benefit: multiple rules #

With Pro, the Total rules field in the General section becomes editable. Raise it, click Save changes, and the plugin adds a separate Rule section for each rule. Every rule has its own status transition, timing and conditions, so you can run several automations side by side, for example:

  • Cancel unpaid orders one hour after they enter Pending payment.
  • Complete paid orders three days after they enter Processing.
  • Move high-value orders to a custom review status while leaving everything else alone.

Pro also includes the WPFactory license key manager for automatic updates.

Already free (no upgrade needed) #

The following are commonly assumed to be Pro, but they ship in the free version and work for your single free rule. If you only need one automation, you do not need Pro to use any of these:

Area Included free
Rule conditions Amount, quantity, gateways, shipping methods, countries, products, categories, tags, stock status, coupons, users, roles, billing emails, dates and order meta
Timing Time trigger (seconds to weeks, or 0 for immediate), Skip days, Skip dates
Advanced options Save status change on, Process rules on, Statuses, Meta box, Allow processing via URL, Disabled conditions, Debug
Orders query Order types, Orders sorting, Max orders
Order status history Empty history handling, Non-matching order status
Periodical processing WP Cron and Action Scheduler, with configurable intervals
Compatibility “Doctreat” theme option
Tools Run all rules now, Copy settings, Reset section settings
My Account and Extra Order status history on My Account, Default order status, per-gateway process-payment statuses

Note: subscription-related options (subscription statuses, subscription hooks) work with these settings, but they require the separate WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin to have any effect.

Difference Between the Free and Pro Versions #

The difference between the free and Pro versions of Scheduled & Automatic Order Status Controller for WooCommerce comes down to a single line: the free version runs one rule, and Pro runs as many rules as you want. Both versions share the same conditions, timing, advanced options and tools for the rules you create.

The comparison #

Capability Free Pro
Number of rules 1 Unlimited
Status from / Status to Yes Yes
Time trigger, Skip days, Skip dates Yes Yes
All rule conditions (amount, quantity, gateways, shipping, countries, products, categories, tags, stock status, coupons, users, roles, emails, dates, meta) Yes Yes
Process rules on / Save status change on / Statuses Yes Yes
Allow rules processing via URL Yes Yes
Disabled conditions and Debug log Yes Yes
Orders query (types, sorting, Max orders) Yes Yes
WP Cron and Action Scheduler processing Yes Yes
Run all rules now, Copy settings, Reset Yes Yes
Order status history on My Account Yes Yes
Default and per-gateway process-payment statuses Yes Yes
Automatic plugin updates (license key manager) No Yes

Why this matters: conditions such as user roles, countries, products and per-gateway statuses are often assumed to be Pro-only. They are not. They all work in the free version, applied to your single free rule. The reason to upgrade is running more than one rule at the same time.

When to upgrade #

Upgrade when you need to automate more than one status transition. For example, if you want to cancel unpaid orders and auto-complete downloadable orders and flag large orders for review, that is three rules, which needs Pro.

Ready to run more than one rule? #

If a single rule is not enough, upgrading takes a couple of minutes and unlocks unlimited rules along with automatic updates. Get Order Status Rules Pro.
