Download Plugins and Themes in ZIP from Dashboard Pro lets you bulk download only the plugins you choose into a single ZIP, straight from the Plugins screen’s Bulk actions menu. This sits between downloading one plugin at a time and the “Download all” tool. The bulk “Download ZIP” action is a Pro feature.
Before you start #
- Download Plugins and Themes Pro (the bulk action requires Pro).
- The
activate_pluginscapability, part of the Administrator role.
Download selected plugins #
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- Tick the checkbox next to each plugin you want to include.
- Open the Bulk actions dropdown and choose Download ZIP.
- Click Apply. Your browser downloads a single ZIP containing the selected plugins.
Note: in the free version, the Download ZIP bulk action still appears in the dropdown, but choosing it shows a notice that the Pro version is required. The bulk action packages plugins only; there is no equivalent bulk-select action for themes.
When to use it #
- Backing up a specific set of plugins (for example, only your custom or premium plugins) without archiving everything.
- Moving a chosen group of plugins to another site.
- Sending a client just the plugins relevant to their project.
