To export store data to XML with Export Products, Orders & Customers for WooCommerce, go to WooCommerce > Export, open a tool, choose a date range, and click Download XML. For the Products and Customers from Orders sections, set Download File Type to XML, save, and click the section’s Export button. XML export is free.
CSV or XML: which to pick #
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| CSV | Opening in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers; quick analysis and editing. |
| XML | Feeding another application or importing back into this plugin’s Import tool. |
From the Export dashboard #
- Go to WooCommerce > Export and open a tool.
- Choose your date range.
- Click Download XML instead of Download CSV.
From the Products or Customers from Orders section #
These two sections have their own export controls and a Download File Type option:
- Products:
alg_export_products_fields_file_type - Customers from Orders:
alg_export_customers_from_orders_fields_file_type
- Set Download File Type to XML and click Save changes.
- Click the section’s Export button.
What the XML looks like #
The plugin wraps the rows in a <root> element with one <item> per record; each column becomes a child element named after the field. This is the same shape the Import tool expects, so an XML export from one store imports cleanly into another.
Note: the Ajax Download option applies to the Product CSV export only. XML exports always download directly.
