To keep automatic stock updates reliable in Automated Stock Update Triggers for WooCommerce, test each trigger change with a real order, and enable Debug in the Admin sub-section so each change is written to WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Keep Remove standard triggers on to avoid double handling, and select only the statuses your store uses.
- Test with a real order: after changing triggers, place a test order and move it through the statuses you rely on. Confirm the stock number changes as expected before going live.
- Use Debug while testing: enable Debug in the Admin sub-section so each reduce and restore is written to WooCommerce > Status > Logs (source
stock-triggers). Turn it off once everything checks out. - Keep “Remove standard triggers” on: the default (on) prevents WooCommerce’s own stock reduction from running alongside your triggers, which avoids double handling.
- Match triggers to your workflow: only select statuses your store actually uses, so stock moves at the moment you intend.
- Try changes on staging first: validate any new trigger setup on a copy of your store before applying it to the live site.
