How to Let Customers Offer a Price for a Quantity

The offer form in Name Your Price: Make Your Own Offer for WooCommerce has a built-in, free Quantity field. Add it under WPFactory > Price Offers > Form > Enabled fields. The customer then offers a price per item for a chosen quantity, and an accepted offer goes to the cart at the agreed price per item.

Symptoms #

  • The offer form shows only a price field, so customers cannot say how many items they want.
  • Offer emails and the offer screen show no quantity, or always 1.

Why it happens #

The Quantity field is off by default. Until you enable it, every offer is for one item. No custom code, template change or extra plugin is needed.

Fix: enable the Quantity field (free) #

  1. Go to WPFactory > Price Offers (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Price Offers) and open the Form tab.
  2. In Enabled fields, add Quantity. Add it to Required fields too if every offer must state a quantity.
  3. Optional: change the field label in Quantity (default “Quantity”) and the starting value in Default quantity (default 1).
  4. Consider changing Price input (default “Your price (%currency_symbol%)”) to make clear the price is per item, for example “Your price per item (%currency_symbol%)”.
  5. Click Save changes.

With Pro and per-product settings enabled, each product and variation can have its own Default quantity. See How to Enable Price Offers for Selected Products, Categories, and Variations.

How quantity flows through an offer #

  • Notification email: add %quantity% to the Email template on the Email tab so you see it in new offer emails. The default template does not include it.
  • wp-admin: the quantity appears in the offer’s Data box under Offers. Add the Quantity column to the product Price offers meta box on the Admin tab.
  • Reply emails: %quantity% also works in the accept, reject and counter templates on the Actions tab.
  • Cart: when the customer opens the accepted or counter offer link, the product is added at the agreed price per item, and the customer cannot change the quantity in the cart. Offer items are marked as sold individually, so check one accepted multi-item offer on your store; if the cart shows 1 instead of the offered quantity, contact support.

FAQ #

Is the offered price for one item or for the whole quantity? #

For one item. The accepted price is applied as the unit price in the cart.

Can I stop customers from offering on huge quantities? #

There is no maximum quantity setting for the offer form. Review the quantity before accepting, or use Counter to respond. Stock is still checked by WooCommerce when the item is added to the cart.

Confirm the fix #

Open a product, click Make an offer, enter a quantity of 3 and send. Accept the offer in Offers, open the email link in a private window and check that the cart shows 3 items at the accepted price.

Get more control #

The Quantity field is free. Name Your Price Pro adds per-product and per-variation defaults, offers on selected products only, and auto-accept and auto-reject. See what Pro unlocks.
