If Free Shipping Bar: Amount Left for Free Shipping for WooCommerce shows nothing or the wrong amount, work through this checklist: confirm the plugin and a display section are enabled under WPFactory > Left for Free Shipping, check your WooCommerce Free shipping minimum, rule out hiding rules and caching, then test for conflicts.
1. Is the plugin enabled? #
Go to WPFactory > Left for Free Shipping (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Amount Left for Free Shipping). On the General tab, Amount Left for Free Shipping must be ticked (it is on by default).
2. Is a display section turned on? #
Nothing is shown until you enable at least one place to show it. Each section has its own Enable/Disable checkbox, off by default:
- Cart (free): the cart page.
- Checkout, Mini-cart, Add to cart notice and Store notice (Pro).
- The
[alg_wc_left_to_free_shipping]shortcode and the Amount Left for Free Shipping widget (free) work without enabling a section.
3. Is there a free shipping minimum to count toward? #
- In WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping, the customer’s zone needs an enabled Free shipping method that requires a Minimum order amount.
- If you use another method for free shipping, set the amount on the Manual min amount tab.
- Guests with no address may not match a zone: tick Shipping country on the General tab.
4. Is a hiding rule switching it off? #
Check General > Hide the amount left text and the Advanced tab:
- By cart amount: hides the text below a cart value (default 0, off).
- By shipping method: hides the text when the selected methods are disabled for the zone (default Free shipping).
- By category and By user role (Pro).
- Virtual products and Check for alternative free shipping on the Advanced tab.
- A manual amount of
-1hides the text when Minus one (-1) is set to Hide.
5. Is the amount wrong? #
Check General > Calculation: Cart total method, Discounts and Shipping. See Wrong Amount Left for Free Shipping: Shipping, Tax or Coupons Counted.
6. Does it stay on an old amount? #
- Use a cart position inside the cart totals, such as After cart totals (default).
- With Pro, tick Advanced > AJAX Options > Enable AJAX, and Force update if a page cache serves old values.
- Exclude cart and checkout from page caching and purge the cache and CDN.
See Free Shipping Bar Text Doesn’t Update When the Cart Changes.
7. Are you using the Cart or Checkout block? #
The built-in positions are classic WooCommerce hooks that the blocks do not run. Use the shortcode or the classic cart. See Free Shipping Bar Not Showing in the WooCommerce Cart Block or Mini-Cart.
8. Is something else interfering? #
- Update the plugin, WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Switch to a default theme such as Storefront and deactivate every plugin except WooCommerce and Amount Left for Free Shipping, then test. Re-enable them one at a time.
- Check the browser console for JavaScript errors and your PHP error log for fatal errors. After an update breaks the site, see Free Shipping Bar Breaks After a WordPress or WooCommerce Update.
Confirm the fix #
In a private window, add a product below your free shipping minimum to the cart. The cart should show the default “[amount] left for free shipping” text (or your custom content), and “You have free delivery!” once the cart reaches the minimum.
