Controlling limits for guest (non-logged-in) customers #
If your store allows guest checkout, Maximum Products per User for WooCommerce lets you decide how limits apply to shoppers who are not signed in. Choosing the guest mode is free; the advanced blocking sub-options (block method, custom add to cart text, redirect) are Pro.
Where to find it #
Go to WPFactory > Max Products per User (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Maximum Products per User), then open the Guests section.
Guest handling modes #
The Guests setting (alg_wc_mppu_block_guests, default “Do nothing”) offers:
- Do nothing (do not track guests sales): guests are ignored and can bypass limits.
- Do nothing but block guests from purchasing products beyond the limits: guests are not tracked over time, but they cannot exceed a limit in a single order.
- Block guests from buying products: guests cannot purchase at all (this is what unlocks the block sub-section below).
- Identify guests by IP address: tracks guest purchases by IP so limits accumulate.
- Identify guests by checkout billing email address: tracks by billing email; this only takes effect at checkout.
Block guests from buying products (sub-options) #
These options only apply when Guests is set to Block guests from buying products.

With Block method set to “According to limit options”, you block only products (or terms) that have Block guests ticked on their edit page, so you can block a subset rather than the whole store.
Use cases #
- Force registration: set Block guests from buying products and show a “Login to purchase” message.
- Fair guest limits without accounts: use Identify guests by IP address, or by checkout billing email.
