To control where a custom field appears at checkout, use the Position Options in Custom Checkout Fields for WooCommerce. You pick a section and a priority number, and the field slots into the WooCommerce checkout accordingly.
Open the Position Options #
- Go to WPFactory > Custom Checkout Fields (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Custom Checkout Fields).
- Open the tab for the field you want to place (for example Field #1).
- Scroll to the Position Options group.
Options reference #
| Label | Option ID | Default | Values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Section | alg_wc_ccf_section_1 |
Billing | Billing, Shipping, Account, Order notes |
| Priority (i.e., order) | alg_wc_ccf_priority_1 |
200 | Any number (lower shows higher) |
What each section means #
- Billing: places the field inside the billing address block.
- Shipping: places the field inside the shipping address block.
- Account: places the field with the account fields shown when a customer creates an account during checkout.
- Order notes: places the field in the additional information / order notes area.
Setting the priority #
Priority is a plain number. The field with the lowest number in a section appears first. WooCommerce’s own core fields use spaced-out priorities, for example First name is 10, Last name is 20, and Email address is 110, so pick a number that lands your field where you want it. The default of 200 puts a new field after most core fields.
Theme not respecting the order? Some themes re-sort checkout fields. If your priority values are ignored, enable Force fields sort by priority on the General tab (alg_wc_ccf_force_sort_by_priority). See Exploring the advanced settings.

You can position one field in the free version. Custom Checkout Fields for WooCommerce Pro lets you place up to 100 fields across all four sections. See what Pro unlocks.
