How to reset a settings section #
Every settings section of Custom Checkout Fields for WooCommerce has its own reset control, so you can return one section to its defaults without touching the rest of your configuration. Use it when a field has accumulated settings you no longer want and you would rather start clean than unpick them one by one.
Where to find it #
Go to WPFactory > Custom Checkout Fields (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Custom Checkout Fields), open the section you want to reset, and scroll to the Reset Settings group at the bottom. It holds a single checkbox.
| Label | Option ID | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Reset section settings | alg_wc_ccf_<section>_reset |
No (unchecked) |
The <section> part is the current section: it is empty for the General section (option alg_wc_ccf__reset) and field_1, field_2, and so on for each field (option alg_wc_ccf_field_1_reset).
Steps #
- Back up first. See the warning below: this cannot be undone.
- Go to WPFactory > Custom Checkout Fields.
- Open the section you want to reset, for example General or Field #1.
- Scroll to the Reset Settings group at the bottom.
- Tick Reset section settings.
- Click Save changes.
On save, every option that belongs to that section is deleted, so it returns to its default value exactly as on a fresh install.
It is per section, not global #
There is no single button that resets the whole plugin. The reset applies only to the section you are viewing, because each section has its own checkbox. Resetting Field #1 leaves the General section and every other field untouched. To reset several sections, visit each one in turn.
Warning: this is irreversible. A reset permanently deletes the section’s settings. There is no undo and no confirmation dialog. Custom labels, placeholders, options lists, and template text are ordinary options and are deleted along with everything else in the section. Take a database backup, or copy long text fields into a note, before you tick the box.
After resetting #
If you reset a Field section, its Enable checkbox is cleared too, so the field stops appearing at checkout until you re-enable it. Add a product to the cart and check the checkout to confirm the field behaves the way you expect. Order data already saved on past orders is not affected by a settings reset.
